Dismissal of Mr. Le Duy Thanh from the position of Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed Decision No. 459 of the Prime Minister approving the results of the dismissal of Mr. Le Duy Thanh from the position of Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

The above decision takes effect from May 29.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security said that the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency expanded the investigation into the case of serious accounting violations occurring at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company, Thang Long Investment, Trade and Real Estate Joint Stock Company and related units.

Based on the defendants' statements, the investigation agency prosecuted and temporarily detained 9 defendants.

Among them, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province and Mr. Le Duy Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, delegate of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province, were both prosecuted for the crime of Receiving bribes.

On March 18, 2024, the Central Inspection Committee met, reviewed and reported on the proposal to discipline Mr. Le Duy Thanh. The Central Inspection Committee found that Mr. Le Duy Thanh had degraded in political ideology, morality and lifestyle; seriously violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; was negative, accepted bribes, caused very serious consequences, outraged public opinion, negatively affected the reputation of the Party organization and local government, to the point that disciplinary action must be considered and taken.

Pursuant to Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee proposes that competent authorities consider and discipline comrade Le Duy Thanh.

On April 9, 2024, the Secretariat decided to take disciplinary action to expel Mr. Le Duy Thanh from the Party, and at the same time requested competent authorities to promptly take administrative disciplinary action in line with Party discipline .
