Just one year after its launch in Vietnam, the time spent watching shopping-related content on YouTube has increased by more than 500%. The information was announced by YouTube at the YouTube Shopping Accelerator event that just took place.

YouTube Shopping officially launched in Vietnam in October 2024, making Vietnam the sixth country in the world to participate in this program. The initiative is expected to contribute to promoting the digital economy, which is forecast to reach a scale of 200 billion USD by 2030.
According to YouTube, more than 55% of eligible creators have joined the affiliate marketing program, expanding their revenue streams and increasing engagement with their audience.
At the recent YouTube Shopping Accelerator event, YouTube announced that the time spent watching shopping-related content on the platform has increased by more than 500%.
YouTube is currently the most popular online video platform in Southeast Asia, reaching 94% of Internet users over the age of 18 in Vietnam. With this advantage, along with the cooperation with Shopee, YouTube said it will continue to invest and launch many new content commerce features, including "Stickers on Shorts" - visual product stickers right on short videos.
