Samsung is facing a backlash from customers after a recent software update crashed many of its soundbars.

This issue affects many high-end Samsung soundbars, including the Q800D, Q990D, and Q995D. This is unfortunate because quality and reliability are always two factors that users highly appreciate in Samsung products.

It all started when Samsung released the 1020 update early last week without a changelog, leaving many people wondering what was going on. While there was no malicious intent, the incident exposed quality control issues in the company’s product development process.

Samsung remains tight-lipped about the issue

According to multiple complaints on Samsung's community forums and Reddit, the issue started when the soundbar displayed a "Hello" message and failed to connect to the TV, forcing users to switch to the built-in speakers. Attempts to fix the problem, such as adjusting the volume, turning off the soundbar with the remote, or disconnecting the power cable, all failed to produce results.

Customers who contacted Samsung support said they received little help. The company's representatives acknowledged the problem but said they had forwarded the information to the warranty team with no immediate solution. The faulty update damaged the soundbars, rendering them unusable. Many are now asking Samsung to replace their devices (regardless of warranty status) because the problem stems directly from the software update.

Samsung invests 1.8 billion USD in Bac Ninh

Samsung has yet to issue an official statement or resolution to the soundbar issue, and the growing number of complaints suggests that the brand needs to act quickly to maintain the trust it has built over the years. This is important, especially as Samsung is dealing with delays in the rollout of One UI 7 to its Galaxy smartphone customers.
