Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thanh Hai, Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Historical Science Association: A bridge connecting knowledge and culture in Thanh Hoa province. Thanh Hoa – a land with a history and culture spanning thousands of years – possesses an incredibly rich treasure trove of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, with 1,535 inventoried and published relics, including 856 classified relics, comprising: the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage Site, 5 special national relics, 139 national relics, 711 provincial relics, and 11 intangible cultural heritage items included in the national list. In the current development context, cultural heritage is not only a source of pride but also a crucial resource for promoting socio-economic development, especially in the tourism industry. At the same time, it is also an effective tool for educating the younger generation, students, and university students about national traditions. Recognizing this importance, Party committees, government agencies, and the people of all ethnic groups in the province are increasingly focusing on promoting and educating the public about the importance of preserving and developing cultural heritage. This orientation is clearly affirmed in Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Thanh Hoa province until 2030, with a vision to 2045, with the viewpoint: "Linking tourism development with the preservation and promotion of cultural and ethnic values; preserving landscapes, protecting the environment; ensuring national defense and security and social order and safety, through three key tourism types: beach tourism, community-based ecotourism, and cultural and spiritual heritage tourism." In recent years, leveraging technological advantages, Thanh Hoa's press has developed comprehensively across multiple platforms: print newspapers, online newspapers, radio and television, and has been disseminated on major social media platforms. It has truly become the most important, responsive, widespread, and effective means of communication in educating and disseminating knowledge in general, and the historical and cultural knowledge of Thanh Hoa in particular. Thanh Hoa's press has reported on and produced in-depth feature stories, publishing research papers by scientists on key topics such as: the appearance and solutions for preserving and promoting the value of typical historical and cultural relics in Thanh Hoa (the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage Site, the Lam Kinh National Special Monument, the Ba Trieu Temple, the Le Hoan Temple, the Con Moong Cave, etc.); and famous historical and cultural areas and landmarks (Ham Rong, Gia Mieu, Lang Giang, Bong Thuong, Thuy Chu, Van Lai – Yen Truong, etc.). Typical historical festivals take place annually, especially in years of major anniversaries, such as the Lam Kinh Festival, the Le Hoan Temple Festival, the Ba Trieu Temple Festival; cultural and spiritual festivals such as the Song Temple, Cua Dat, Phu Na, and Doc Cuoc; historical figures, national heroes, and prominent cultural personalities from Thanh Hoa, such as Ba Trieu, Le Hoan, Le Loi, Le Van Huu, and Dao Duy Tu; and major historical and cultural events of the country and the homeland, such as the 990th anniversary of the name Thanh Hoa (2019) and the 100th anniversary of the discovery and research of the Dong Son culture (2024)... With increasingly improved presentation styles, beautiful and realistic images, printed publications, especially special editions and Tet (Lunar New Year) editions, have become more attractive and "softer," helping to effectively promote and educate the public about the positive images of Thanh Hoa province and its people, spreading them more widely among the people. In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the rapid development of technology today, Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television Station need to continue promoting the application of technology, strongly innovating in terms of presentation methods, and improving the quality of content. The preservation and promotion of cultural heritage needs to be reflected from a more multifaceted perspective – alongside the achievements already made, there is a need for more critical articles and opinions on limitations and shortcomings that have not yet been overcome. There is a need to increase educational articles and videos for young people, students, and schools on the work of preserving, conserving, and promoting cultural heritage. Thanh Hoa is a large province with seven ethnic groups, each with its own unique cultural life. Therefore, there is a need for more articles and images about the cultural life of ethnic minorities and mountainous regions so that Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television can continue to affirm their role as a bridge for cultural knowledge, making an important contribution to the preservation and promotion of Thanh Hoa's precious heritage in the new era. Nguyen Huu Ngon, retired official from Tan Son neighborhood, But Son town (Hoang Hoa): Thanh Hoa's press adapts to new development trends. For the past 50 years, my connection with Thanh Hoa Newspaper has been a matter of chance. During the years 1975-1978, I was a literature student in the provincial specialized program (at that time, there were only specialized literature and mathematics programs) at Ham Rong High School (now Ham Rong High School). Because my home was far away, my parents sent me to live with my uncle, journalist Huu Tho, a reporter for Thanh Hoa Newspaper, to make studying easier. Living in the room that served as both my uncle's workplace and residence, I had the opportunity to meet, interact with, and be impressed by the warmth and enthusiasm of the uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters in the office. I still vividly remember the serious and scientific working atmosphere of everyone in the newspaper's editorial office, despite working in difficult conditions in a thatched house. It was during this time that I had the chance to frequently read many articles in the newspaper. My love for journalism grew, and I began to practice writing essays and articles from that time. Throughout my university years, and the 16 years that followed as a literature teacher at various levels, Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station have always been my companions. I not only regularly read and collected many articles about education, but I also began writing articles related to this field; and I explored more about the unique cultural characteristics of Thanh Hoa province... Particularly from 2009 to 2011, during my time as Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Board, I was assigned by the Board to monitor and advise on press activities. Therefore, I had to read and watch extensively to make accurate and objective assessments and advise the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Board on the direction of propaganda work to align with political tasks. It is evident that, in the face of the immense impact of the 4.0 revolution and the changes in information consumption habits of readers and viewers, I have observed that press activities in general, and Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television Station in particular, have continuously innovated their methods of operation, always seeking and choosing new directions in line with the trends of the times. Thanh Hoa's press agencies have experienced rapid, strong, and comprehensive development. Articles focus on extensively disseminating the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and laws, effectively acting as a bridge between Party committees, government agencies, and the people, contributing to social consensus. At the same time, many articles also focus on combating corruption, negative practices, and waste, refuting harmful and malicious information, and countering false and hostile viewpoints, protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Articles published in Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio & Television are also widely disseminated on various social media platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, allowing readers to access them quickly and easily. This not only meets the increasingly diverse needs of readers, listeners, and viewers but also contributes to the successful implementation of the local development tasks. Nguyen Van Quynh, Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association and Director of Vietnam Agricultural Products Processing and Export Joint Stock Company: The press - an effective communication channel for businesses. The press is an effective communication channel that helps businesses promote their brands, introduce products, and connect with customers. This is a key factor in expanding markets and enhancing competitiveness. Furthermore, the press reflects the difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses to relevant authorities, contributing to the improvement of policies and the business investment environment. Honoring exemplary business models and socially responsible entrepreneurs also helps spread the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation within the community. As the media outlet of Thanh Hoa province, Thanh Hoa Newspaper (now Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio & Television Station) always promptly updates businesses and the people on the policies and guidelines of the Party, the State, and the province. Especially important is information on economics and politics, which plays a crucial role in guiding the effective production and business activities of enterprises. Thanh Hoa Newspaper has sections analyzing the economy and market with rich content, specific data, in-depth analysis, and multi-faceted reflection of economic activities from production and consumption to investment and international integration. This is a useful tool to support businesses and investors. Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station (now Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television Station) has also made positive contributions to promoting the image of the locality, introducing the potential, strengths, and investment environment of the province. Through reports, special features, and in-depth news bulletins, the station has created a vibrant and attractive information channel, helping to bring the image of Thanh Hoa closer to domestic and foreign investors and partners. However, for the press to continue to be effective in supporting local economic development, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association believes that strong innovation is needed in both content and presentation methods. Promoting digital transformation in journalistic activities, improving the quality of reporters specializing in economics, and strengthening interaction with the business community are key factors in elevating the role of the press in the current period. In the coming period, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association will continue to strengthen connections with media agencies through seminars, exchanges, and experience-sharing programs between journalists and entrepreneurs. At the same time, the association will proactively introduce innovative startup models and exemplary businesses for the media to explore, thereby contributing to building the image of young entrepreneurs as dynamic, resilient, and responsible to the community and society. Do Trong Hoc, Director of Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative (Van Hoa village, Cat Van commune, Nhu Xuan district): Spreading motivation and "igniting" startup models in the agricultural and rural sectors. The mission of journalism is not just one-way propaganda, but a multi-directional channel for information transmission and interaction. Journalists travel widely and meet many people, so they often have a comprehensive perspective, which greatly helps in providing information, shaping public opinion, and encouraging new models and good practices in life. For agriculture, rural areas, and startup models, journalism acts as a bridge for information, spreading stories and providing motivation and confidence for young entrepreneurs to confidently move forward on their chosen path. Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative is the first unit in Nhu Xuan district to establish a macadamia production area and develop dried macadamia products into a 3-star OCOP product. For myself and Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative, the media outlets in the province, such as Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television, have become a legitimate, reputable, and useful source of information. They not only provide essential knowledge in the production and business process but also support the dissemination of the startup model, helping people aspire to legitimately become wealthy in a new crop sector in the mountainous district of Nhu Xuan. In the early years of our business, we faced many obstacles, not only in developing new crop varieties for the Nhu Xuan area, but also in accessing market information, business experience, capital, and even building a brand for our products. At that time, local media outlets were incredibly helpful in providing information and encouragement to small-scale agricultural entrepreneurs like us. The specialized sections "Agriculture - Rural Areas" and "Economy" in the daily Thanh Hoa newspaper; the "New Rural Areas" section on the Thanh Hoa online newspaper; and "Friend of the Farmer" on TTV channel... have conveyed useful and in-depth agricultural and rural information, targeting specific readers. On a few occasions, I had the opportunity to interact with journalists and they interviewed me, reporting on the production model of the Thanh Phat macadamia cooperative. Each time I appeared in the newspaper or on television, I felt nervous, but being featured in the media and sharing my production model and cultivation techniques was a way to convey my message to the people, to those who love agriculture and share an interest in macadamia trees. This also helped me in building and promoting macadamia products to a wider consumer base inside and outside the province. As a result, business has improved significantly. On numerous occasions, thanks to information published in the press, many people have sought out the Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative, hoping to visit, learn about the model, and even acquire techniques for producing macadamia trees in the hilly areas. At that time, I silently thanked the journalists, reporters, and editors who spread my message further, bringing together those interested in macadamia trees, creating conditions for the development of raw material areas and concentrated planting areas, and bringing more high-quality, healthy products to consumers. When the press reports on agricultural startups in a timely, accurate, and objective manner, it helps many startup models like ours to more easily promote their brands. We hope that journalists and media outlets will continue to support us, seek out more exemplary individuals who have been involved in and developing agriculture and rural areas, and replicate effective production models. This will inspire motivation, determination, and even encourage timely support and encouragement policies to help agricultural startups develop more strongly and sustainably. |
