This achievement marks her emotional return after years of temporarily retiring behind the scenes to do management work.
35 years of dedication to traditional art
Belonging to the third class (1990-1992) of the Bai Choi Folk Drama major of Binh Dinh College of Culture and Arts (now Quy Nhon College of Technology), Bang Chau entered the profession in 1992, belonging to the generation of actors who matured right from the "cradle" of the Binh Dinh Bai Choi Folk Drama Troupe.
Here, she was trained in discipline, perseverance and nurtured a deep love for the stage.

During her long acting career, she has taken on supporting roles, main roles, and even positive-negative roles that require depth of character... which has shaped her into an artist full of passion for her profession.
“The stage taught me to endure hardship and love my job. Each role is a different life, I have to live my life to the fullest with the character” - Meritorious Artist Bang Chau shared.
Throughout her career, actress Bang Chau participated in many outstanding plays of the Binh Dinh Bai Choi Opera Troupe at national professional theater festivals, leaving a strong impression through roles that demonstrated her versatility such as: Silver medal for the role of maid Cam Nhung in the play "Princess Huyen Tran" (1995), Gold medal for the role of Bach Thi Ha in the play "The missing death row prisoner" (1998), Gold medal for the role of Ma Buoi in the play "My mother that day" (2011).
With the role of Bui Thi Xuan, she was awarded a Silver Medal in the play "The Tragic Song" (2013) and a Gold Medal in the play "Shining Mountains and Rivers" (2019). With her many achievements over the years, Bang Chau was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012.
With talent, ethics and tireless working spirit, in 2020, Meritorious Artist Bang Chau was entrusted with the responsibility of Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Provincial Traditional Arts Theater.
The new job requires her to spend a lot of time on organizational work and many other important activities of the unit. This is not an easy decision for an artist who has been indispensable to music and stage lights for many years.
“I am both happy to take on new responsibilities and sad to miss the stage. Every time I see the children practicing, I want to step onto the stage and listen to the beat, my heart flutters,” she confided.
Continue to assert talent on stage
This year, when the Theater participated in two major festivals, Meritorious Artist Bang Chau decided to return. She played the role of Colonel Lan in the play "The Devil's Game" at the 5th National Professional Stage Arts Festival on "The Image of the People's Public Security Soldier" - 2025; transformed into Mrs. Hong in the play "The River Tells a Story" at the 2025 National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival.

5 years away from the stage is not a short period of time, returning to the stage, she was worried because she was afraid of "losing her profession". But the 2 roles, 2 different inner nuances proved the mettle of a skilled artist, continuing to be highly appreciated: Silver medal for the role of Colonel Lan and Gold medal for the role of Mrs. Hong.
“The happiest thing is that I can still stand on stage. The two medals are not only a personal joy, but also an affirmation of the efforts of the entire Theater team” - Meritorious Artist Bang Chau shared with a smile.
The role of Colonel Lan does not have much screen time but requires restraint of emotions, acting with eyes and tight dialogue. The image of a steadfast and alert female police officer in the battle of wits between good and evil was successfully portrayed by her.
“This role helps me to restart my emotions after many years away from the stage,” she said.

In "The River Tells Stories", Meritorious Artist Bang Chau chose to act with real emotions, letting her heart guide her singing, her breath and her eyes. Mrs. Hong's role spans over time from a young wife, to a mother who has suffered many losses, to an old, blind woman.
The most emotional part is when Mrs. Hong meets her son, Binh, after 15 years. The house was burned down by the enemy, his eyes were blind, her love for her son and her anger mixed together when she thought Binh had joined the enemy.
“Acting that scene felt like my heart was being torn apart. The mother loved her child infinitely, but was extremely angry. I lowered my voice and spoke slowly, as if each word was a piercing pain,” Meritorious Artist Bang Chau emotionally spoke about her role.
Meritorious Artist Bang Chau’s journey back to the stage is not only a career milestone, but also an affirmation of the artist’s persistent dedication. Each time she returns, she brings with her a story, a breath, a slice of life.
“The role of Mrs. Hong is probably the last role I will participate in the national professional theater festival. I will continue to step back behind the scenes, devoting all my time to management and teaching the young generation, guiding them to grow up and assert themselves on stage, continuing the previous generation to bring the Bài Chòi opera to conquer the audience” - Meritorious Artist Băng Châu confided.
