After an impressive first official competition day, Vietnamese athletes continued their success by winning 9 gold medals on the 7th of May at the 32nd SEA Games.
This achievement helped the Vietnamese Sports Delegation win a total of 15 gold medals, temporarily rising to fourth place in the medal tally of the 32nd SEA Games.
In addition to 15 gold medals, the Vietnamese delegation also won 18 silver medals and 27 bronze medals.
Athlete Pham Tien San was the "golden starter" for the Vietnamese delegation on today's competition day when he finished first in the men's duathlon individual final.

Following the success of Tien San, female martial artist Hoang Thi My Tam excellently won the 3rd Gold medal for Vietnamese Karate at SEA Games 32 in the women's 55kg weight class.
Immediately after that, Dinh Thi Huong also excellently defeated her Filipino opponent with a score of 7-4 in the women's under 68kg weight class to bring home the 4th gold medal for Vietnamese Karate at the 32nd SEA Games. This is Dinh Thi Huong's first gold medal after 3 times participating in the SEA Games.
Along with Karate, the Vovinam team also won two gold medals today from Nguyen Thanh Liem and Do Phuong Thao.

Nguyen Thanh Liem won the Gold medal after an overwhelming 9-1 victory over athlete Emmanuel Dailay Cantores (Philippines) in the final of the men's 60kg category.
Meanwhile, Do Phuong Thao won the Gold medal in the women's 60kg weight class, after defeating Thai opponent Kesinee Tabtrai 8-5 in the final match.
Jujitsu also won a Gold medal after martial artist Dao Hong Son defeated his Singaporean opponent in the final match of the men's 56kg weight class at the 32nd SEA Games.
On the green track, the male Swimming Team athletes competed excellently to win two Gold medals.
Pham Thanh Bao won the Gold medal in the men's 100m breaststroke with a time of 1 minute 0.97 seconds, breaking the SEA Games record.

Not long after, Nguyen Huu Kim Son, Hoang Quy Phuoc, Tran Hung Nguyen and Nguyen Huy Hoang also successfully defended their Gold medal in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
The "Quartet" of the Vietnam Swimming Team excellently defeated their opponents from Singapore when they came in first with a time of 7 minutes 16 seconds 31.
