Actively implement the emulation movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies"
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Do Tien Sy - General Director of Voice of Vietnam expressed his pleasure to welcome representatives of press agencies according to annual practice. As a key media agency, Voice of Vietnam always identifies propaganda as the top priority task and focuses all resources on this task, to affirm the leading and orienting role of public opinion of a major press agency.
The history of Voice of Vietnam Radio with 78 years of accompanying the nation has proven the great effectiveness of the media role that the Radio has performed through each historical period.
Currently, Voice of Vietnam is in the process of digital transformation to create a rich content ecosystem and technical infrastructure for connection, ensuring flexible adaptation in digital transformation. Voice of Vietnam will always uphold the spirit of solidarity, unity, inherit and promote the precious tradition of 78 years of construction and growth, successfully carry out all assigned tasks, and make a worthy contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Mr. Do Tien Sy - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of Voice of Vietnam delivered the opening speech at the Conference.
Mr. Do Tien Sy stated that, regardless of the circumstances, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press is still a propaganda tool of the Party and State of Vietnam. Therefore, the press must ensure accuracy, truthfulness, speed, timeliness and responsibility in transmitting information to the public.
"It is necessary to continue building a team of journalists and press workers with ethics, solid knowledge and flexible adaptability. It is necessary to be ahead and move quickly to grasp new media trends and media technology. This is very necessary when new trends and new technologies change every day. Therefore, the digital transformation in journalism with the support of the State needs to be carried out by press agencies at a faster and stronger pace," said Mr. Sy.
Reporting on the press work in the past week, Director of the Press and Publication Department - Tong Van Thanh said that in the past week, the most prominent thing in the press was the propaganda about the activities of the Party and State leaders; continuing to promote the propaganda about the outstanding results from the beginning of the 13th Congress term until now and information about the key tasks until the end of the term; information about the activities of the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly; information about the Government's management, directly the meeting of the Government Standing Committee, which directed the resolution of urgent issues arising in the current period.
In addition, press agencies focused on promoting the activities to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The quality and material for this propaganda campaign were created from the great attention of the Party and State leaders, which was clearly demonstrated by the Prime Minister working with the Vietnam Journalists Association; the National Assembly Chairman meeting with press agencies, organizing the Dien Hong Award ceremony; the Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department meeting with key political press agencies and assessing the information and propaganda tasks, and directing information and propaganda in the coming time.

At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association reported on the summary of 1 year of implementing the emulation movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies".
Mr. Loi said that immediately after launching the movement, all levels of the Journalists Association from central to local levels coordinated with press agencies to urgently develop a plan to discuss, unify information on the situation, thoroughly grasp the spirit of the movement, organize a ceremony to sign emulation agreements, and include the content of the movement in the decision to classify and reward members and journalists every year. At the same time, the Inspection Board of the Central Association guided all levels of the Association to self-monitor, inspect, and directly supervise at all levels of the Association.
In May 2023, the Association's leaders issued Document No. 36 requesting all levels of the Association to report on the results of the emulation movement. To date, 84 units have submitted reports, including 58 provincial and municipal journalist associations, 15 inter-associations, and 22 affiliated inter-associations.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi said that through reports, it was shown that the Journalists Associations of provinces and cities and central agencies have actively implemented and organized emulation launching ceremonies in press agencies, signed emulation agreements in emulation clusters and branches. Associations at all levels have included the content of press culture in debates, conferences, seminars and discussions. Many units have been active, proactive and creative in implementing emulation movements such as: Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, Da Nang City Journalists Association, Hai Phong City Journalists Association, Journalists Associations of Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Kontum, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long provinces, etc.
"The central federations have enthusiastically responded to the practical and responsible implementation of the movement, advised the Party committee, editorial board, and governing body to develop emulation plans in each press agency, discussed and agreed on criteria suitable for their units to organize the signing ceremony of emulation covenants, some federations have done effective and creative things such as Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, VNA, Central Agency of the Association, People's Army Newspaper, Ministry of Information and Communications..." , Mr. Loi informed.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that the press has promptly reflected developments in all aspects of social life; brought readers news that breathes and beats life; inspired innovation and creativity, the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country for the entire nation; propagated, fought, and refuted wrong views, bad and toxic information, protected the Party's ideological foundation; criticized and fought against evil, corruption, waste, bureaucracy, and negativity.

"Journalists have proactively penetrated reality, promptly reported on hot events and issues of public concern such as: Party building and rectification, fighting against corruption and negativity, disease prevention, ensuring national security and defense with many creative, diverse and accurate approaches, creating a combined strength of society. This is a clear demonstration of the dedication, will, courage, exploration, sharpness and creativity of journalists in difficult and even dangerous working conditions," said Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha shared that in just 2 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press will reach the 100-year milestone (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). In the context of globalization and deep international integration; the strong development of science and technology; the rapid movement of the world; the practice of innovation and dynamic development of the country. This reality requires that the Vietnamese revolutionary press must continue to strongly arouse the aspirations, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the will to rise up of each citizen and business, encourage the spirit of innovation; add positive energy for the entire political system, together with the entire people, to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully achieving the socio-economic development goals in 2023 and the 2021-2025 period.

Press agencies closely follow the practical cause of innovation and development of the country, current issues; deeply and vividly reflect the breath and pulse of life to produce many quality journalistic works with high combativeness, profound and authentic humanistic values, touching the emotions of the public, thereby orienting public opinion, creating social consensus, and constantly strengthening the people's trust in the Party and State.
Press products must be highly humane, imbued with national cultural values, have great influence, create consensus in the whole society, propagate the struggle, refute wrong views, bad and toxic information, protect the Party's ideological foundation, and contribute to the cause of reviving and developing Vietnamese culture.
Every journalist needs to be aware of their responsibility as ambassadors for Vietnam's soft power; bringing the nation's good cultural values of "truth - goodness - beauty", the image of a Vietnam responsible for global issues to international readers, contributing to enhancing the nation's overall strength.
It is necessary to play a sharp policy communication role; at the same time, it is an effective means of social supervision and criticism. The press truly becomes a bridge between the Party, the State and the people, a propagandist, a guide, and an encourager for the people to implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies, and at the same time a broad social forum for the people to promote democracy, the role of mastery, supervision, and social criticism.
On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023), on behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister and with personal feelings, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha sent his best wishes to journalists across the country for good health, happiness, always maintaining their passion for the profession, bright minds, sharp pens, updating trends to bring the best products to the public.
