- Building a professional, humane and modern press
- Digital press brings Ca Mau to the world
- Ca Mau press is forever worthy of the trust and love of the Party and the People.
Right from the first days of the program implementation, the press has been strongly and comprehensively involved. Many columns, special pages, reports, and articles vividly reflecting the implementation of the program in localities have been published in the mass media. Thereby, contributing voices, inspiring, and raising public awareness of the goals, meanings, and importance of building new rural areas.
During that journey, I was fortunate to accompany as a reporter in charge of the NTM section. I remember the first days of getting into the rhythm of the program, with 19 main criteria but hundreds of small criteria built into the framework. Without hesitation to approach the new program, with a lot of content but full of meaning, I researched and learned the regulations of each criterion.

With new knowledge gathered every day, I traveled to rural areas to propagate from the reality of each countryside, about traffic, health, schools, poor households... to the meaning and goals of the program in implementing more difficult criteria on planning, building the political system, security and order...
Having been involved in the program since its inception, I have deeply felt the changes in the countryside as well as the lives of the people. The appearance of the countryside from traffic infrastructure, electricity, water, schools, to cultural and medical institutions... have all been invested synchronously, meeting the daily needs and production of the people better and better. More importantly, the program not only renews the appearance of the countryside, but also renews the thinking and awareness of the people. From waiting and relying on others to being proactive, self-managing, and working together to develop the homeland.
The fisheries economy is increasingly developing, the lives of local people are constantly improving.
One of the typical districts showing changes after more than 15 years of implementing the national target program is Tran Van Thoi district. From a purely agricultural district, Tran Van Thoi today has a new appearance, bright, spacious and full of vitality. From the straight concrete roads connecting hamlets to the solid roofs rising among the green rice fields... All are vivid evidence of the persistent journey, many efforts that the Party Committee, government and people here have made in the journey of building the new rural area; in which there is the companionship of the press, contributing to spreading good models, creative ways of doing things, arousing the spirit of innovation and the aspiration to rise of the people in the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
Through hundreds of articles, reports, and notes from the press, they have contributed to "painting" a picture of the Tran Van Thoi countryside, which is changing day by day. Many journalists have traveled to remote areas to record even the smallest changes, but they are rich in symbolism. The words are sometimes simple but enough to move, arouse awareness and create a spread.

Journalist Tran Hieu, working at the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), was born and raised in the countryside of Khanh Hai commune, Tran Van Thoi district, shared: “As a son of Tran Van Thoi hometown, I always carry in my heart a deep love for this land, my childhood was associated with muddy dirt roads, rickety schools and many scenes of hard-working lives. When I became a journalist, having the opportunity to write about the land where I was born, I felt the full value of change. Concrete traffic bridges have now replaced the precarious monkey bridges of the past; what used to be a remote area, now has bright street lights, children happily go to school, people are excited about new production models. Through my articles, I have contributed my voice and small efforts to the journey of my hometown, spreading the spirit of innovation and the will to rise of the people of my hometown. Up to now, looking back on the journey I have traveled, I believe more and more that: if the press is sincere and responsible enough, it will be able to contribute to the development of the country. Responsible and close to the people, will always be a loyal companion of the New Rural Area. As a journalist, with love for my homeland, I will continue to write with all my heart for the land where I was born."
The journey of building a new rural area is entering an advanced, exemplary phase, with more stringent requirements, requiring strong changes in the quality of life, environment, culture, and people. In that journey, the press will continue to be an indispensable companion. With a practical understanding and a heart attached to the countryside and its people, journalists today will continue to contribute an honest and positive voice, together with the Party, government, and people in the province to build rich, beautiful, civilized, and affectionate countrysides.
When the program began, Ca Mau had a low starting point with many communes meeting no criteria and a high poverty rate. To date, the province has had 69/82 communes meeting the NTM standards, reaching 84.14%; 11/69 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards, and 1 district-level unit was recognized by the Prime Minister for completing the task of building the NTM. Most importantly, the poverty rate in the province is currently below 1%; for communes that have met the NTM standards, the average income per capita is 62 million VND or more.
