On December 26, CNN Travel posted a news article about Cau Hon with the title "Vietnam's new bridge is for kissing, not for crossing".
According to the news, a new selfie hotspot called Kiss Bridge - where couples can share romantic moments under the sunset in Vietnam was officially inaugurated on December 22. This project is a collaboration between Italian architect Marco Casamonti and tourism corporation Sun Group .
The Kiss Bridge design was inspired by the painting The Creation of Adam by the Italian artist Michelangelo and the love story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. The bridge is like a silk strip in the middle of the ocean, consisting of two parts stretching out to embrace the sandbank, facing each other and forming a unified entity without touching.
The bridge is over 800 m long. The highlight of the bridge is the 30 cm gap between the two branches of the bridge, which will be filled by the sunset every afternoon. This gap is just enough for two people to touch each other, exchange a kiss but not cross the boundary. The special design of the Kissing Bridge also carries a timeless message about love and the connection between people, nature, and the universe.
According to Sun Group, the distance between the bridges has been calculated so precisely that on January 1st every year, the red sunset will fall right at this intersection, becoming a red mark connecting the two ends of the bridge.

The Vietnamese name of the Kiss Bridge also means “proposal”, suitable for occasions expressing special feelings of couples. The bridge is located on Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang Province, Southern Vietnam.
Known as the "pearl island", Phu Quoc is the most popular resort destination for international visitors in Vietnam. It is also an ideal place for couples to enjoy their honeymoon.
Sun Group has built many similar projects, including the 150m-long “Golden Bridge” in Da Nang , located at an altitude of more than 1,400m above sea level.
Phu Quoc has invested heavily in its tourism infrastructure. The place owns luxury hotel brands such as Regent, InterContinental and JW Marriott. From December 22 to December 30, visitors can visit the Kissing Bridge for free.
