By choosing to perform songs previously associated with the names of Thanh Lam, Ha Tran, and Tung Duong in the Dreamy Voyage program broadcast on July 6th on VTV2, Bao Tram Idol not only showcased her increasingly solid vocal technique but also demonstrated the confidence of a young artist.

For her, entering that "sacred space" wasn't about competition, but rather a way to pay tribute to those who came before her and find a new way to tell the story of songs that were deeply etched in her memory.

From her Top 3 finish on Vietnam Idol 2012 to the present day, Bao Tram has always been known for her powerful and emotional voice, but few know that she spent many years learning from scratch – in music , technique, and even understanding songs from their roots. On the Dreamy Voyage stage, Bao Tram delivered a series of performances showcasing her clear maturity in both technique and emotion – especially in songs once associated with Vietnamese music divas.

In the program, Bao Tram performed "Homeland" (composed by Tran Tien) – a lyrical song once associated with the divo Tung Duong, "Green Bamboo Lullaby" (composed by Quoc Trung) – a unique song performed by Thanh Lam in a contemporary style, and especially "The Story of the Sun, the Story of Us " (composed by Do Bao) – a profound arrangement that made the name of diva Ha Tran. It's not easy to re-sing songs that already bear the mark of others, but Bao Tram didn't choose to "surpass," she chose to "accompany."

"There are some songs I've sung casually for years, but when choosing which ones to include in the program, I had to think it over many times. Not because I didn't like them, but because I wasn't sure I had enough experience or technique to fully convey the spirit of the song."

"But luckily, my courage paid off – I tried my best to convey the works that were originally tailor-made for the senior artists, with my own emotions and experiences. And from that, I also received new energy from the songs," the female singer shared in a conversation with MC Mạnh Khang.

As one of the few young artists who voluntarily pursued formal training after achieving fame, Bao Tram is currently studying Vocal Performance at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. “Studying vocal performance is my way of showing seriousness about my profession. I used to sing instinctively and was loved. But I want that when I sing at 30, I sing with both inner strength and knowledge. That’s how I show respect to the audience and music,” the singer shared.

Beyond just songs by divas, the program also revealed a different side of Bao Tram – a gentle, emotional voice through children's songs, contemporary folk music, and love songs about her homeland. " Bringing Food to Mother While She Works in the Fields" (Ngoc Van), "Little Sunshine" (Tran Tien), "Midday Dream " (Giang Son), and "The Most Beautiful Summer" (Duc Huy) – these songs resonated like gateways leading viewers back to childhood, back to the simplest, purest things in their souls.

She also performed Lasia Cio Pianga – a famous aria from Handel 's classical opera – as a testament to her willingness to take on significant professional challenges. From diva music to folk songs, from classical arias to children's music, audiences saw in Bao Tram the image of a serious, persistent artist who knows her place and what she wants to tell.
