Choosing to perform songs that were once associated with the names of Thanh Lam, Ha Tran, and Tung Duong in the program Dreamy Voyage broadcast on July 6 on VTV2, Bao Tram Idol not only demonstrated her increasingly solid vocal technique but also showed the mettle of a young artist.

For her, entering that "sacred area" is not a competition but a way to pay tribute to those who came before and find a new way to tell the songs that are deeply engraved in her memory.

From the Top 3 of Vietnam Idol 2012 until now, Bao Tram has always been known as a powerful and emotional singer, but few people know that she spent many years learning from scratch - with music , technique and understanding the song from the root. On the Dreamy Voyage stage, Bao Tram brought a series of performances that showed clear maturity in both technique and emotion - especially in songs that were once associated with divas of Vietnamese music.

In the program, Bao Tram performed Que Nha (musician Tran Tien) - a lyrical song once associated with divo Tung Duong, Tre Xanh Ru (musician Quoc Trung) - a unique song performed by Thanh Lam with a contemporary feel and especially Chuyen Cua Mat Troi, Chuyen Cua Chung Ta (Do Bao) - a profound arrangement that made the name of diva Ha Tran. It is not easy to sing songs that have been marked by others, but Bao Tram did not choose to "overcome", she chose to "accompany".

“There are songs that I have sung casually for many years, but when I chose to put them on the show, I had to put them down many times. Not because I didn’t like them, but because I wasn’t sure I had enough experience or technique to fully ‘translate’ the spirit of the song.

But luckily, my courage was rewarded – I tried my best to convey the works that were tailor-made for previous artists, with my own emotions and experiences. And from there, I also received new energy from the songs," the singer shared in a conversation with MC Manh Khang.

As one of the few young artists who voluntarily pursued formal education after becoming famous, Bao Tram is currently majoring in Vocal Music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. “Studying vocal music is my way of showing my seriousness towards my career. I used to sing instinctively and was loved. But when I sing at the age of 30, I want to sing with both strength and understanding. That is how I respect the audience and the music,” the singer shared.

Not only stopping at the songs of the divas, the program also evokes another Bao Tram - a gentle, emotional voice through children's songs, contemporary folk songs and love songs about the homeland. Bringing rice to mother plowing (Ngoc Van), Little sun (Tran Tien), Midday dream (Giang Son) and The most beautiful summer (Duc Huy) - resounded one after another like doors leading viewers back to childhood, back to the simplest, purest things in the soul.

She also performed Lasia Cio Pianga – a famous aria in Handel ’s classical opera – as an affirmation that she is not afraid of great professional challenges. From diva music to folk songs, from classical arias to children’s music, the audience saw in Bao Tram the image of a serious, persistent artist who knows where she stands and what she wants to tell.
