Bau Trang National Scenic Area (Bac Binh district) is a famous destination that attracts both domestic and international tourists when they come to Binh Thuan , thanks to its pristine, natural beauty.
However, recently, this tourist spot has experienced some encroachments on the scenic beauty, as well as some tourism-related activities such as the operation of off-road vehicles that could potentially endanger tourists. At a recent press conference organized by the Provincial People's Committee, many journalists asked questions related to how to protect the Bau Trang scenic area and address existing problems, aiming to build Bau Trang into a safe and friendly destination for tourists.
Answering questions at the press conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated that in recent times, the unit has regularly taken the lead and coordinated with relevant agencies, units, and localities to promote propaganda work, aiming to raise awareness and jointly protect and promote the value of the Bau Trang National Scenic Area as a shared responsibility of all relevant agencies, units, organizations, and individuals. First and foremost are the business households and individuals operating service businesses within the Bau Trang National Scenic Area, as well as the people and tourists visiting the Bau Trang National Scenic Area. Annually, the unit proactively develops plans for regular and unscheduled inspections of specialized cultural, sports, and tourism activities to promptly detect, correct, and strictly handle organizations and individuals with violations in service business activities and acts that harm or affect the original elements constituting the Bau Trang National Scenic Area.
Currently, the Department is reviewing and researching legal documents to develop a plan for training motorbike and car tour guides, as a basis for issuing certificates of eligibility to operate at the Bau Trang Scenic Area. Guidance has been provided to establishments on the procedures for converting to businesses; currently, 3 out of 4 establishments have completed this conversion, including: Bau Trang - Minh Thai Eco-tourism Area, Bau Trang U&ME Tourist Area, and Trieu Trang Tourist Area (Bau Trang - Nhu Trung Eco-tourism Area is in the process of conversion). In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Official Letter No. 2266 requesting strengthened measures to ensure the safety of tourists regarding tourism products that pose a risk to the life and health of tourists, addressed to the Management Boards of tourist areas and sites; and organizations and individuals engaged in tourism services. This includes guidance on documentation and procedures for ensuring safety when operating tourism products that affect tourists, as stipulated in Government Decree No. 168 dated December 31, 2017.
In the coming period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to monitor and remind businesses to comply with regulations regarding procedures and documentation for ensuring safety when operating tourism products that affect tourists. In this spirit, the department recently issued Official Letter No. 3153 on improving the quality of service for tourists, requesting the Culture and Information Departments of districts, towns, and cities; the Management Boards of tourist areas and sites; and tourism service businesses to review technical equipment and operational procedures for various types of adventure tourism services. At the same time, it will strengthen the dissemination of information to tourism businesses, adventure tourism businesses, and local Management Boards of tourist areas and sites to uphold a high sense of responsibility in their work to contribute to building safe destinations for tourists…
