At the same time, prosecute and temporarily detain defendant Tran Quoc Anh (37 years old), a civil servant of the Land and Construction Department of Bai Thom commune, to investigate the act of taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties.

Searching the residence and workplace of the two suspects, the police seized many objects and related documents to serve the investigation.
According to the initial investigation results, in 2013, taking advantage of his position and authority as a civil servant of the Land and Construction Department of Bai Thom commune, Tran Quoc Anh committed fraudulent acts in the work of reviewing land origins, creating documents to legalize many unused land plots under the management of the State, land of other people's origin in Bai Thom commune as land reclaimed and used by Quoc Anh's relatives.

After that, Quoc Anh prepared a file for approval and sent it to Nguyen Van Nhuong, then Chairman of the People's Committee of Bai Thom Commune, to sign and confirm the origin of the land so that relevant agencies could appraise and issue certificates of land use rights for the plots. After being granted land use rights, Quoc Anh sold them to others to illegally profit billions of dong.
The Investigation Police Agency of Kien Giang Province is continuing to investigate the act of irresponsibility causing serious consequences against the accused Nguyen Van Nhuong and the act of taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties against the accused Tran Quoc Anh.
