Suspect arrested for brutally abusing his nephew to death.

On June 10th, information from the Criminal Investigation Agency of Ha Long City Police Department indicated that they had initiated a criminal case and arrested Nguyen Xuan Tan (27 years old, residing in Ha Khau Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province) to investigate the death of a 13-year-old boy suspected of being abused.

Earlier, at around 8:15 PM on June 4th, the Ha Long City Police received information that Bai Chay Hospital (Quang Ninh) had admitted patient NTA (13 years old, residing in Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh Province), but the patient had already died upon arrival at the hospital.

According to doctors at Bai Chay Hospital, NTA had suffered cardiac arrest before arriving at the hospital, and both of her hands had numerous bruises.

After receiving information about the incident, the Ha Long City Police dispatched a task force to investigate. Initial investigations revealed that, during the summer break, NTA had been staying at her maternal uncle Nguyen Xuan Tan's house since mid-May. Recently, suspecting his niece of stealing money and a phone from a friend, Tan tied NTA's hands to the window bars of the rented room with a rope.

Not stopping there, Tan continued to beat NTA's legs with a tree branch and deprived her of food and water, resulting in her death.

The Ha Long City Police are continuing to investigate the case.
