Bus driver arrested urgently.

(NLĐO) - Regarding the horrific accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger bus that resulted in numerous casualties, the police have urgently arrested the bus driver.

On the morning of February 22nd, the Son La Provincial Police announced that they had initiated criminal proceedings and arrested Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 1, Phu Luu Te Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi ), the driver of the passenger bus involved in the horrific accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger bus in Sapp Vat Commune, Yen Chau District, which resulted in 6 deaths and 8 injuries.

According to authorities, preliminary investigations determined that the accident was caused by rain and slippery road conditions. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle's speed while cornering, causing the rear half of the bus to veer into the opposite lane and collide with the tractor-trailer. Tests for alcohol and drugs in the driver, Nguyen Dinh Hung, were negative.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, at approximately 11:30 PM on February 21st, a particularly serious traffic accident occurred at kilometer 235+100 on National Highway 6 in Sapp Vat commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger bus.

At that time, a passenger bus with license plate 26F-009.xx, driven by Nguyen Dinh Hung (42 years old, residing in Hanoi), was traveling from Son La to Hanoi when it collided with a tractor-trailer with license plate 30C-095.xx traveling in the opposite direction at kilometer 235+100.

The accident resulted in six fatalities and eight injuries. Among the deceased were five passengers on the bus and the driver of the tractor-trailer. At the scene, both vehicles were severely damaged and deformed.

Immediately after receiving information about the extremely serious traffic accident, the Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Dinh Viet, along with leaders of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, were present at the scene to offer condolences to the victims' families and direct efforts to mitigate the consequences of the accident.

Due to rainy weather causing slippery roads, coupled with fog on National Highway 6, temperatures have dropped significantly, visibility is limited, and the already dangerous mountain roads are further hampered by fog and slippery conditions, increasing the risk of traffic accidents. Authorities advise drivers to limit or temporarily stop traveling on these routes due to the risk of slippery conditions caused by rain and fog.
