(NLDO) - Regarding the tragic accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger bus that left many people injured and dead, the police have urgently arrested the passenger bus driver.
On the morning of February 22, Son La Provincial Police announced that they had initiated a criminal case and arrested Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 1, Phu Luu Te Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi ), the bus driver in the tragic accident between a tractor-trailer and a bus in Sap Vat Commune, Yen Chau District, which left 6 people dead and 8 injured.

According to the authorities, based on the preliminary investigation results, the cause of the accident was due to rain, slippery road surface, the bus driver could not control the speed, so when turning, the rear half of the vehicle was thrown into the opposite lane and collided with the tractor trailer. Tests for alcohol and drug levels in the body of driver Nguyen Dinh Hung were both negative.
Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , at around 11:30 p.m. on February 21, at km 235+100 of National Highway 6 in Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, a particularly serious traffic accident occurred between a tractor-trailer and a passenger bus.
At the above time, the passenger bus with license plate 26F-009.xx driven by Nguyen Dinh Hung (42 years old, residing in Hanoi) traveling from Son La to Hanoi, when reaching km235+100, collided with a tractor trailer with license plate 30C-095.xx traveling in the opposite direction.

The accident killed 6 people and injured 8 others. Among the dead were 5 people on the bus and the tractor driver. At the scene, 2 cars were damaged and deformed.
Immediately after receiving information about the particularly serious traffic accident, Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet and leaders of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee were present at the scene to encourage the victims' families and direct the handling of the accident's consequences.
Due to the rainy weather, the road surface is slippery, along with fog on National Highway 6, causing the temperature to drop sharply, the sky is foggy, and visibility is limited. Therefore, traveling on mountain passes is already dangerous, now with fog and slippery roads, traffic on these roads is potentially dangerous. Authorities recommend that drivers should limit and may temporarily stop traveling on roads where rain and fog can cause slippery conditions that make it difficult to control the vehicle.
