Fishing boat KG-94147-TS was escorted by authorities to the port of Squadron 422/Flight Division 42 in Phu Quoc City for investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.

At the time of inspection, there were 5 crew members on board: Trinh Van Du, Tran Van Cuong, Nguyen Thong Hieu, Le Tuan Duong and Trinh Nghia. Of these, Trinh Van Du (born in 1986; residing in Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province) was the captain.

The ship is owned by Ms. Luu Thi Ngoc Duyen, located in An Hoa ward, Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province.

More seriously, 3/5 of the crew members did not have identification papers, and the captain did not have a fishing boat captain certificate as required. According to the captain's statement, the ship was transporting about 40 tons of various types of seafood.

Mr. Du confessed that on November 7, the ship completed departure procedures at the Kenh Dai Border Control Station/Tay Yen Border Post (An Bien District, Kien Giang Province). After leaving the port, the ship went to Malaysian waters to purchase seafood and then transported it to Vietnamese waters.
