Fishing boat found carrying over 40,000 liters of illegally obtained fuel.

On July 27, patrol forces of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command inspected and apprehended a fishing vessel illegally transporting approximately over 40,000 liters of diesel fuel (DO) in the southwestern sea area.

At the time of inspection, fishing vessel CM 92519 TS was illegally transporting over 40,000 liters of diesel fuel (DO) in the southwestern sea area.

Specifically, at 2:00 AM on July 27th, during a patrol and inspection in the sea area approximately 150 nautical miles southeast of Bo De estuary, Ca Mau province, the task force of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command discovered and inspected fishing vessel CM 92519 TS which showed suspicious signs.

Upon inspection, authorities determined that the vessel was captained by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang (born in 1981, residing in Tay Yen commune, An Giang province), and had four crew members on board.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang confessed that the fishing vessel CM 92519 TS was transporting over 40,000 liters of diesel fuel (DO) without documentation proving its legal origin, with the intention of reselling it to other fishing vessels operating at sea.

Authorities from the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 have drawn up a violation report, temporarily seized the vessel, sealed all the goods, and escorted the ship to the port of Squadron 421 (Fleet 42), Nam Can commune, for further investigation and handling in accordance with the law.
