According to CNN, the controversial incident occurred on a Juneyao Airlines (China) flight on August 24 from Guiyang city to Shanghai.
A Yuneyao Airlines plane
The 1-year-old girl was traveling with her grandparents on the flight and kept crying and making noise. The grandmother then let two other female passengers on the plane carry the baby into the plane's bathroom. One of them filmed the incident and later posted it on social media.
In the video, one of the two people tells the girl, "If you stop crying, I will let you go back to your grandmother." The girl struggles and reaches for the door of the plane's bathroom.
After a while, when the baby stopped crying, the woman picked him up and said, "If you make any more noise, we'll come back here."

According to the airline, the child was traveling with his grandparents and cried continuously throughout the nearly three-hour flight. The two passengers took the child into the bathroom to "educate " him with the consent of the child's grandmother, the airline said.
However, as criticism mounted, the airline's customer service department apologised for the incident and the crew's oversight, condemning the two passengers' behaviour.
In an online post, one of the women explained that she just wanted the flight to be peaceful for the other passengers. According to her explanation, the baby was crying so much that "many passengers had to use tissues to cover their ears", and some "moved to the back of the plane to avoid the noise". However, many people posted comments criticizing her for being inconsiderate and bullying the child. The video was later deleted.
"Adults in their 30s can have emotional breakdowns, but children are not allowed to do so," one Weibo user commented, receiving thousands of likes. "We were all children once. Don't become a cold-blooded adult," another user commented.
Many Chinese media outlets also commented on the incident, criticizing the two women for their inappropriate behavior and calling on the public to be more understanding of children because they cannot control their emotions.
