55/62 V-League referees pass pre-season fitness test
On the morning of August 3, referees and assistant referees participating in the pre-season training program entered the physical fitness test - a mandatory content according to FIFA regulations to assess their ability to undertake tasks in national professional football tournaments in the 2025-2026 season.
In order to create favorable conditions and ensure the best physical condition for the referees, the Organizing Committee (OC) agreed on a plan with all referees to prepare and arrange the testing time starting early in the morning, avoiding the effects of the hot weather in Hanoi in recent days.

In addition, medical work is also carefully prepared by the Organizing Committee with 4 ambulances and 4 medical teams on duty at the checkpoint to be ready to respond to any arising situations.
According to the announced results, out of a total of 62 referees and assistant referees participating in the physical test, 55 people passed the tests, reaching a rate of 88.7%.
Completing physical tests is a prerequisite for referees to be considered for assignment to work in the new V-League season.
Referees are required to have a medical certificate.
During the physical test, a referee showed abnormal health symptoms. The on-duty medical team immediately performed first aid and performed active resuscitation measures on circulation and respiration, and quickly used an ambulance to transfer the referee to the hospital for further emergency measures.
In addition, to be eligible to participate in the physical examination, referees attending the training must ensure that they have health examination documents as prescribed in Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT.
Representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation and VPF along with the VFF Referee Board were present at the hospital when the incident occurred. Currently, medical departments and related departments continue to be present at the hospital to closely monitor developments and coordinate with medical facilities in treatment.
After the physical test this morning, the referees continued the training program with the content of disseminating the Regulations of the national professional football tournaments for the 2025-2026 season.
In the afternoon of the same day, the referees entered the theoretical test related to VAR technology - a key tool that will continue to be widely applied in V-League 2025-2026.
In addition, referees also participated in analyzing and drawing experience from typical situations in the previous season, thereby consolidating knowledge and improving practical handling skills on the field. The training program will continue until August 7 with in-depth content on competition rules, referee team coordination, video analysis and VAR operation.
