The decision on personnel transfer was given to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu by Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung on the afternoon of January 17 in Can Tho City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu said that although his working time in Can Tho was not long, he was always proud and respectful, considering it as his luggage in the next working process. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu wished Can Tho to develop more and more, worthy of being the center of the Mekong Delta.
The new Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Nguyen Van Hieu, is from Binh Dinh province. He has a master's degree in educational management, a bachelor's degree in law, and a bachelor's degree in administration. In January 2016, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was elected as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu has held the positions of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Secretary of the District 2 Party Committee; Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and Secretary of the District 5 Party Committee since May 2020.
From January 2021, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was appointed as Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. In June 2022, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was elected by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee as Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu became Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee in May 2023.
The Central Propaganda Department is an advisory and assisting agency of the Party Central Committee, directly and regularly the Politburo and the Secretariat in the work of Party building in terms of politics, ideology, ethics; the Party's policies and guidelines in the fields of propaganda, political theory, protection of the Party's ideological foundation, Party history, press, publishing, culture, arts, foreign information, science, technology, environment, education, training, vocational training, health care, physical education, sports, population, family, children, etc.
Currently, the Central Propaganda Department has 1 Head, 5 Deputy Heads and 2 concurrent Deputy Heads.
