The report at the meeting said that, implementing the directions of the Central and the Government , the province has actively deployed the development of social housing, especially projects under the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030".
Specifically, Dong Thap province (old) was assigned the target of completing 6,100 apartments in the period 2025 - 2030 and Tien Giang province was assigned the target of completing 7,597 apartments in the period 2025 - 2030; up to now, the target assigned to Dong Thap province (new) to complete in 2025 is 1,474 apartments.
Key projects are being implemented such as: My Phu Social Housing, Bon Mua Urban Area, Tan Huong Social Housing, D7 Road Social Housing, Binh Thanh 1 and Binh Thanh 2 housing projects; and many other projects are in the stage of calling for investors. In particular, the time to handle administrative procedures related to social housing projects in Dong Thap province has been reviewed and significantly shortened (reduced by 53% - 54% of the time), contributing to speeding up progress.
At the meeting, delegates discussed the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of social housing projects; at the same time, they gave many important contributions to successfully complete the task of developing social housing in Dong Thap province in the coming time, meeting the housing needs of people, especially workers and low-income people.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Le Quoc Phong suggested that after this meeting, the Provincial People's Committee directs to continue to review more fully the current status of the projects, if necessary, work with each investor to have a final commitment; for projects that have been allocated land for a term many times but have not been implemented, the land should be collected and assigned to other investors to implement; fully review all legal bases and new guidelines and regulations on policies issued by the Central and the Government related to social housing development, from there consider any other policies for timely support from the locality; continue to review clean land funds that can be invested in social housing development; for projects that the investor is enthusiastic about but still has procedures and responsibilities of the State, it is necessary to focus on removing them; strictly control the cost of social housing.
At the same time, it is recommended to focus on reviewing and evaluating the issues raised in this meeting and by the end of July report back to the Steering Committee on the specific status and specific solutions for the projects.
