Musical performance amidst… thunder and lightning

On the evening of July 19, the Superfest 2025 - Bright Summer Concert program scheduled to take place at Sun Carnival Square (Ha Long, Quang Ninh) had to be canceled due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).

In 2024, when the Dreamy Cities event series was suddenly canceled due to storms, the organizers tried to organize another show and reduced tickets by 40% for old audiences who bought tickets from the official distribution system. The organizers of Superfest 2025 also said that with unactivated tickets, audiences can participate in the event later, although the specific time and location have not been announced. However, many audiences are not satisfied because they are not sure they can participate at that time.

From this, it can be seen that only when the organizers can control the risks can they take into account the interests of the audience. A solution that has been applied for a long time in the world is that major events are all pre-purchased with event insurance packages so that if there is damage, the organizers can minimize the loss, thereby ensuring financial safety as well as reputation by compensating the audience. These often include Event Cancellation Insurance, Public Liability Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, Work Accident Insurance, etc.

However, according to event organizers, this approach is still not widely known and applied in Vietnam, so more research and cooperation from many relevant parties is needed to put this stage into practice, thereby creating a precedent, contributing to the professionalization of outdoor music event organization when this form has recently become very popular.
