Vietnam 3-cushion carom billiards has won all the most prestigious titles in the world , from individual titles to team titles. The journey to conquer the peak of the players has marked a historical milestone for Vietnam 3-cushion carom billiards.

Over the years, Vietnamese 3-cushion carom Billiards has increasingly affirmed its high ranking in the world. In particular, Tran Quyet Chien has won the 3-cushion carom World Cup 3 times and is currently the highest-ranked Vietnamese player, ranked number 2 in the world. After Tran Quyet Chien, Vietnamese Billiards has made history with player Bao Phuong Vinh winning the 3-cushion carom world championship for the first time. Most recently, Tran Quyet Chien combined with Bao Phuong Vinh to make history for Vietnamese Billiards when winning the 2024 World 3-cushion team championship.

On the latest world 3-cushion billiards rankings, Tran Quyet Chien ranked 2nd, Bao Phuong Vinh ranked 8th. In the world Top 30, Vietnam also has Chiem Hong Thai (ranked 18th), Tran Thanh Luc (ranked 24th)... In addition, Vietnam also has a number of other famous players who have left many marks in international tournaments such as Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Ngo Dinh Nai, Nguyen Duc Anh Chien and Tran Duc Minh. Therefore, the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB) decided to award the right to host the 76th World Individual 3-cushion Billiards Championship to Binh Thuan province, the first tournament held in Vietnam.

The World 3-Cushion Carom Championship has a history dating back to 1928, and is traditionally held once a year. The 76th World 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Individual Championship will be held at Sea Links City, Phan Thiet City from September 25 to 29, 2024, with the participation of the world's best players from the European, American, Asian, African - Middle Eastern Billiards Federations and Vietnam. This year's tournament has 48 slots, including 1 slot for the defending champion, 16 slots in order of the world, 13 slots for Europe, 8 slots for America, 5 slots for Asia, 3 slots for Africa and the remaining 2 slots selected by the host. The players are divided into 16 groups of 3 people each, playing a round-robin to select 2 players from each group to enter the knockout round (round of 16).

Vietnam has the most representatives in this tournament with 6 players: Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Quyet Chien, Nguyen Van Tai, Tran Thanh Luc, Le Thanh Tien and Tran Duc Minh. Of which, Bao Phuong Vinh is the defending champion, Quyet Chien is in the world's Top 16, Van Tai and Thanh Luc are in the Asian group, and Thanh Tien and Duc Minh have special tickets from the host. South Korea has the second most representatives, with 5 players, including Kim Jun Tae, Cho Myung Woo, Heo Jung Han, Kim Haeng Jik and Seo Chang Hoon. Türkiye has 4 players: former champion Tayfun Tasdemir, Tolgahan Kiraz, Berkay Karakurt and Turgay Orak.

The champion of the 3-cushion carom world championship will receive 20,000 euros (over 550 million VND) and 120 ranking points. The runner-up will receive 12,000 euros (over 330 million VND) and 81 ranking points. With the participation of many Vietnamese and international players, the tournament promises to bring extremely eye-catching competitions. Hopefully, Vietnamese players will continue to make history in the tournament held for the first time in Vietnam.
