Binh Duong opens the 2025 Southeast Karate Open Championship

VHO - On the morning of June 16, at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium of Binh Duong Province Sports Training and Competition Center, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Southeast Open Karate Championship took place.

This year's tournament attracted more than 97 athletes from 9 teams from provinces and cities.

This is a practical emulation action to achieve achievements to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, term 2025 - 2030.

This year's tournament attracted 97 athletes from 9 teams from provinces and cities with strong Karate movements in the Southeast region and neighboring areas such as: Tay Ninh, An Giang, Tra Vinh , Can Tho, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City and host Binh Duong.

Athletes compete in the following categories: Kata (individual men and women), Kumite (individual men and women; team men and women), in weight categories from 45kg to over 74kg for men and from 40kg to over 61kg for women.

The tournament will take place from June 16-18 at the Binh Duong Province Sports Training and Competition Center Multi-purpose Gymnasium (Vo Van Kiet Street, Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City).

The Southeast Karate Open Championship is a traditional sporting event organized annually by Binh Duong province.

Athletes compete enthusiastically right after the opening ceremony

Through the tournament, the aim is to create conditions for athletes to participate in exchange, learn, share experiences, and improve their professional skills. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for localities to evaluate the athletes' capacity to continue preparing forces to participate in national and international tournaments in the coming time.

Through this traditional tournament, many athletes of Binh Duong have demonstrated their bravery, professional skills, competed excellently, and asserted themselves.

Through that, they have become national talents in all levels and are one of the main "gold-winning" forces at the province's annual regional, national and international tournaments.

Typically, at the 2024 Asian Youth Karate Championship - Philippines, Binh Duong has 3 athletes participating in the Vietnamese team including: Truong Nam Tien, Luu Vo Anh Duy, Pham Nguyen Anh Hau.

In which, athlete Truong Nam Tien excellently brought home the silver medal in the 55kg weight category for men of U21 age group. Currently, Karate Binh Duong is contributing 1 coach and 6 athletes to work regularly in the national Karate team.

Delegates award medals to athletes who achieved results in the men's 54kg category.

The 2025 Southeast Open Karate Championship in Binh Duong is not only an opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their talents and improve their skills, but also contributes to promoting the strong development of the Karate movement in the region.

With careful preparation and high determination, the teams will continue to compete with all their might, promising to bring exciting competitions and high professional quality.
