Binh Duong starts construction of nearly 1,000 social housing units

(Chinhphu.vn) - On May 25, in Tan Hiep ward, Tan Uyen city, Phuc Dat Production and Trading Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phuc Dat Tan Uyen high-rise social housing project with nearly 1,000 apartments.

Phuc Dat Tan Uyen high-rise social housing project is deployed on a land area of ​​over 1.1 hectares; the scale includes 3 blocks, 18 floors high and 1 basement; total construction floor area of ​​76,000 m².

The project provides the market with 936 apartments and 39 shophouses, fully meeting the needs of residents for housing and living facilities, such as community living areas; swimming pools.... The total investment of the project is about 1,300 billion VND.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the project, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Bui Minh Tri said that developing social housing is one of the very important policies of the Party and State, aiming to meet the housing needs of workers, especially workers, low-income people and policy beneficiaries.

In recent times, Binh Duong province has focused on and mobilized all resources to develop social housing in the area. The province always respects, recognizes and highly appreciates enterprises that have actively accompanied the provincial government in developing social housing projects.

The groundbreaking of the Phuc Dat Tan Uyen High-rise Social Housing Project is a clear demonstration of the cooperation of the business community with the Government 's major policy to realize the goal of building 1 million social housing units for low-income people and workers in the 2021-2030 period.

The Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to focus on directing the project to ensure progress and quality in order to create a spacious and modern housing area serving low-income people, contributing to the urbanization process of the province in the coming time.

According to the project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers, Binh Duong was assigned by the Government to develop 86,877 apartments compared to the forecast demand of 115,836 apartments in the 2021-2030 period.

However, the project of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee aims to invest in building 160,325 social housing units in the period of 2021-2030. Of which, it is expected to build more than 155,000 apartments and 5,000 townhouses, of which about 32,000 units are for rent.

Thus, Binh Duong province's plan is twice as high as the target assigned by the Government.
