Ministry of Public Security requests to expand investigation into fake textbook ring

(QNgTV)- Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security sent a letter of commendation to Bac Ninh Provincial Police for their outstanding achievements in the project to destroy a large-scale fake textbook production and trading ring; and at the same time requested to expand the investigation.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security requested the Bac Ninh Provincial Police to continue to coordinate with relevant units and localities to investigate, expand the case and strictly handle violations according to the provisions of the law; promote the achieved results, make more achievements and outstanding achievements in work and combat.

Previously, from July 29 to August 3, 2025, Bac Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with professional units to conduct emergency searches of 8 locations in Bac Ninh and Hanoi city, summoning 12 subjects related to the case.

Through inspections of printing factories, warehouses and bookstores, the authorities discovered and seized 2,300 cartons containing more than 185,000 copies of fake English textbooks worth more than VND8 billion, along with 27 zinc plates, a color printer, two trucks and many materials and equipment for production and transportation. The total value of the exhibits sealed for investigation is estimated at about VND15 billion.

Investigation results identified Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - Director of Northern Printing Technology Investment Company Limited in Thien Lap commune (Hanoi city) as the ringleader.
