Ministry of Industry and Trade launches logo and slogan creation contest on sustainable production and consumption

This morning, October 27, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a launching ceremony for the Contest "Creating logos and slogans on sustainable production and consumption" to raise awareness and further promote the role of businesses and people in sustainable production and consumption.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu - Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Head of the Organizing Committee and Head of the Jury of the contest said that sustainable production and consumption is an inevitable trend today. Vietnam is in the process of promoting industrialization, modernization and deep integration with the regional and world economy . Industrial production activities along with industrial consumption and personal consumption activities are developing rapidly, becoming the main pillars in the country's economic growth.

However, the expansion of industrial production and consumption activities, especially unsustainable production and consumption activities, is causing negative impacts on the environment, natural resources and creating additional costs for the economy. In that context, promoting propaganda activities, raising awareness of the business community, consumers as well as leaders and managers at all levels about sustainable production and consumption activities is considered an urgent solution.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes the Contest “Creating logos and slogans on sustainable production and consumption” as one of the modern and attractive propaganda methods to raise awareness, further promote the role of enterprises in the industry and trade sector as well as people in sustainable production and consumption activities, contributing to promoting the sustainable development of the economy. Thereby contributing to raising awareness of the community about sustainable production and consumption”, said Mr. Vu.

For more information, according to the representative of the Organizing Committee, the contest will look for a set of products including: a logo and a slogan that convey the message of the National Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the period 2021-2030, in which the logo includes a graphic image or text or a combination to help identify the Program's brand; the slogan includes a short, concise sentence that conveys the Program's message.

In addition, the winning logo and slogan will represent the image and message of the Program, appearing in the Program's communication activities. The Contest's Jury consists of 9 members who are experts with qualifications and professional experience in the field of sustainable production and consumption and a number of artists with experience in judging awards.

At the announcement ceremony, the contest's Jury announced the contest's rules and regulations. Accordingly, the contest is open to all organizations and individuals at home and abroad, regardless of age or profession. Authors can participate as individuals or in groups.

The entry is a complete product including both logo and slogan. The judging criteria include the following factors: Expressing the message; requirements for design and aesthetics; creativity; high applicability. The contest prizes include: 01 First prize worth 10 million VND, 02 Encouragement prizes each worth 5 million VND. The time for receiving entries is from October 27, 2023 to December 1, 2023. The Organizing Committee plans to award prizes in December 2023.
