According to the IChO regulations, on the first day, candidates will take the Practical exam and on the second day, they will take the Theory exam. Each exam lasts 5 hours. This year's exam is considered creative, close to real life but still ensures scientific depth.
The theoretical exam revolves around environmental issues, technology or applications of chemistry in life such as: seawater desalination, solar energy, tennis balls, lanterns..., requiring candidates to apply general knowledge and critical thinking to solve problems.
The practical exam requires candidates to master basic to advanced experimental skills, such as synthesizing and analyzing complexes, identifying amino acids, identifying organic compounds using thin layer chromatography techniques, titration, and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. This exam requires precision, logical thinking, and proficient laboratory operations.

Sharing the joy of returning home, meeting teachers, family and friends after the journey to conquer IChO 2025, Ngo Quang Minh - the owner of the highest Gold medal of the team said: I was not surprised with the result because after finishing the test, I thought I did quite well. This is even more meaningful because this year my school also has many students who have achieved high results in international competitions.
Congratulating the students on their excellent achievements, Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management affirmed that these are very proud achievements. These are very important initial results, the students' learning path is still very long ahead, hoping that they will promote today's results to continue studying, truly becoming talents of the country.
