Working with the delegation were Ms. Tran Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders and staff of specialized departments of the Lang Son Department of Education and Training. According to the report, Lang Son province currently has 647 educational institutions and schools. From the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training directed 100% of educational institutions to review and prepare adequate facilities and teaching equipment; balance resources, and integrate national target programs to prioritize investment in schools in border areas, disadvantaged areas, and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.

Alongside the implementation of the new school year's tasks, the education sector has proactively addressed the consequences of Typhoon No. 11. Fifty-two educational institutions were affected, with total estimated damage to infrastructure exceeding 16.7 billion VND. As of October 22nd, 48 out of 52 institutions had largely completed repairs, and all 643 schools in the area have resumed teaching and learning activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong highly appreciated the proactive spirit and effective coordination of the Lang Son education sector in implementing the tasks of the school year, especially in the context of the province operating under a two-tiered government model. The Deputy Minister requested the province to pay attention to investing in infrastructure, schools, and teachers, especially in disadvantaged and border areas, considering this a prerequisite for improving the quality of teaching and learning. At the same time, he urged continued efforts to improve the quality of management staff and teachers, promote digital transformation, innovate thinking and educational methods, and integrate two-session-per-day teaching with the specific conditions of each locality.
“The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to work alongside Lang Son province, supporting the training and development of staff, guiding the implementation of new policies, and resolving difficulties related to mechanisms, in order to help the province's education develop sustainably and meet the requirements of innovation in the coming period,” Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training, along with benefactors, provided support to units and individuals affected by Typhoon No. 11 to help them overcome difficulties and stabilize teaching and learning activities, with a total value of over 4.3 billion VND.
Earlier, on October 22nd, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong and a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training visited and inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods at schools in some storm-affected communes in Lang Son province.
