On August 17, the Ministry of Construction issued a dispatch on responding to tropical depression in the East Sea. Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction requested the Vietnam Maritime Administration and Inland Waterways to direct Maritime Port and Inland Waterways Authorities to continuously monitor the developments and movement of the tropical depression to notify and guide ships when granting permission for ships to leave port.
At the same time, the Ministry of Construction requires counting and strictly managing the departures and maintaining regular contact with vessels operating in the area affected by the tropical depression, including transport vessels and tourist vessels, to promptly handle possible bad situations; checking the guidance on anchoring at the wharf, especially the anchoring area around the islands.
The Ministry of Construction also requested Electronic Information Company Limited. Shipping Vietnam directs the coastal information station system to monitor, update, immediately process information and promptly notify the location, developments and direction of movement of the tropical depression so that vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea can proactively avoid, escape or not move into the danger zone.
Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center prepares forces and vehicles to participate in search and rescue when ordered.
Besides, Ministry of Construction Require agencies and units to organize 24/7 duty and regularly report to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the Ministry of Construction.
