Exposing the tricks of hostile forces to distort and defame the Party's history on cyberspace

Enough tricks to smear and distort the Party's history

Over the past 95 years, reality has demonstrated the development, progress and maturity in all aspects of the Communist Party of Vietnam . On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1960), President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: "Thirty years of Party history are a golden history book".

In 2024, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Party's founding, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (1944-2024) emphasized: "The rich and vivid practice of the Vietnamese revolution since the Party's founding has proven that the Party's correct and wise leadership is the leading factor deciding all victories of the revolution, creating many miracles in Vietnam."

Those assertions are the conclusion from vivid reality and clearly point out a truth: In Vietnam, there is no other political force than the Communist Party of Vietnam that has enough courage, intelligence, experience, prestige and ability to lead the country to overcome all difficulties and challenges, leading the revolutionary cause of our nation from one victory to another.

However, despite historical truth, with extremely vicious tricks, hostile forces still deliberately fabricate and distort the truth about the Party's history at many different levels. Subjects fabricate or cut and paste information, turn black into white, deliberately fabricate untrue historical details, in order to defame the honor, prestige and glorious, glorious history of the Party. The long-term plot of hostile and reactionary forces is to change the awareness, psychology and feelings of cadres, party members and the masses, thereby causing skepticism and loss of faith in the Party's history and ultimately denying the great achievements of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Using this trick, hostile forces direct readers to a mixed perception of the true, objective and the false subjective, behind which are dark plots. The information reflecting the historical events of the Party that they release may contain some fairly accurate content about the time, location, and subject of implementation, making readers feel that this is the truth. However, the reactionary nature is shown in the incorrect commentary on the nature and cause of the event and biased judgments about the Party's consideration and resolution, aiming to deny the Party's leadership role.

A typical example of this plot is that when discussing the August Revolution of 1945, hostile and reactionary forces claimed that: “The victory of the August Revolution of 1945 in Vietnam was due to luck”. In fact, in the history of revolutions in the world, there has never been a revolution that broke out and won because of “luck”. To say that it was “luck” is also synonymous with denying the sacrifices of millions of cadres, party members and the masses who fought steadfastly for 15 years (1930-1945) for the great cause of the nation.

Therefore, it must be reaffirmed that the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 first of all originated from the correct and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially the Party seized the opportunity at a once-in-a-thousand-years moment to lead the people to make a world-shaking revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first workers' and peasants' state in Southeast Asia.

In recent times, hostile forces have released ambiguous and unverified information to distort and defame leader Ho Chi Minh and many previous leaders of the Party such as: Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong, Truong Chinh, Le Duan... They have released so-called "private sources", "stories just told now", or "internal secrets" to baselessly assess and evaluate the lives, backgrounds, and careers of leaders and previous leaders of the Party, even fabricating and maliciously distorting their private lives, causing many people, especially young people, to be confused, wavering, and losing faith in the Party's outstanding children who have been recognized by history and have made many great contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause.

The Vietnamese revolutionary practice has proven that in each historical period, the Party has educated, trained and built a team of high-level leaders, especially Party leaders who are exemplary in character, personality, morality and intelligence, worthy of being exemplary and excellent communists, trusted, respected, learned from and followed by the entire Party and people.

Hostile and reactionary forces also seek every way to "dig up", distort and exaggerate the mistakes and shortcomings of the Party, even though some of those mistakes and shortcomings have been strictly self-examined and publicly and clearly concluded by the Party. When explaining, evaluating and commenting on the results of the Party's revolutionary leadership, the saboteurs always seek to deny the achievements; meanwhile, the difficulties caused by the adverse impacts of the world and regional situations affecting the results of the implementation of our country's revolutionary tasks are not honestly identified and thoroughly evaluated, but on the contrary, they deliberately deny the Party's efforts and attempts in steering the Vietnamese revolutionary boat to overcome all difficulties and challenges, gain many great victories, and contribute to changing the fate of the nation, country and people of Vietnam.

Taking advantage of the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and communist parties around the world, hostile forces have made false comments and comparisons between the history of our Party and the history of communist parties around the world. Accordingly, when there are similarities between the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and communist parties around the world, especially the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (formerly) and the Communist Party of China, hostile forces slander our Party as "copycat" and "imitative".

But they do not understand (or deliberately do not understand) that the similarity shows loyalty in thoroughly grasping Marxism-Leninism, in adhering to the most general theoretical principles that any communist party implements. On the other hand, the similarity does not mean there are no differences, the general principle does not mean eliminating specificity. The experience of the brother communist parties in the world is studied, consulted and selectively absorbed by the Communist Party of Vietnam, in accordance with the practical conditions of the Vietnamese revolution.

Affirming the historical value of the Party with scientific and convincing arguments

From the above-mentioned sabotage tricks, the fight against activities that distort and defame the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the Internet is currently an urgent requirement to contribute to protecting the position, prestige and leadership role of the Party - the leading factor deciding all victories of the Vietnamese revolution.

First of all, it is necessary to improve the quality of the work of compiling, propagating and educating Party history. This is a fundamental solution, a concretization of the motto of closely combining "building" and "fighting", taking building as fundamental and regular, fighting as important and urgent. Thoroughly grasping the idea of ​​"using beauty to eliminate ugliness", the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army continue to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness of the importance of the work of compiling, propagating and educating Party history; focusing on implementing well Directive No. 20-CT/TW dated January 18, 2018 of the Secretariat "On continuing to strengthen and improve the quality of research, compilation, propaganda and education of Party history". Closely combine scientific and Party nature in all activities of compiling, propagating and educating Party history.

Focus on promoting the pioneering and core role of the team of experts in the fight against the distortion of Party history. The distortion of Party history information on cyberspace is carried out by hostile forces with many sophisticated tricks. Therefore, to defeat that plot, we must mobilize a wide range of forces in theoretical research agencies, scientific agencies, press and media agencies. In particular, the team of experts, scientists, journalists, and political lecturers is the pioneering and core force, with sufficient qualifications and ability to use scientific arguments on theory and practice to expose and convincingly refute the distortion of Party history by hostile forces.

In the information age, it is necessary to promote the development of online propaganda and education models of Party history in order to limit and narrow the scope of distortion of Party history in cyberspace. This is a preventive measure with long-term value, contributing to improving the effectiveness of measures to fight against the distortion of Party history. Actively open specialized pages, columns, and forums such as: "Learning revolutionary history", "Disseminating knowledge of Party history", "Revolutionary history stories", "Learning about historical figures of the Party"... on cyberspace to attract people of all walks of life, especially young people, to participate in learning, researching, and studying.

Currently, in our country, the number of readers accessing the Internet is increasing, especially young people who often exploit multi-dimensional information but lack political courage, life experience and alertness in the face of the chaos of information being accessed. Therefore, it is necessary to build and strengthen talks and discussions by experts online and on radio and television, thereby helping people and the young generation improve their ability to perceive, analyze and evaluate the information they have received, in order to clarify and affirm the authenticity and scientific nature of the Party's history.

Continue to invest in and effectively promote modern technical means and technology to build online Party history learning models that are powerful enough to overwhelm, dominate, and repel the distorted arguments of hostile forces, thereby affirming the value and authenticity of the "golden history" - the history of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam!
