Dubbed the Private Plane Villa, the cockpit cabin has been replaced with brand-new luxury interiors, including a bedroom with a hot tub.
The airplane has been converted into a villa for rent.
The Private Airplane Villa, designed by Geometrium Studio, is situated in a stunning location 150 meters above sea level, atop the cliffs of Nyang Nyang Beach in Bali, Indonesia. The aircraft, previously used throughout Indonesia, was transported to the challenging site by truck and crane after being decommissioned before undergoing professional on-site renovations, according to New Atlas .
Transforming the old Boeing 737 into a luxurious residence was challenging, not only because of its cliffside location but also due to the lack of space and inconvenient interior dimensions. To address this, Geometrium Studio installed a new ducted air conditioning and ventilation system, concealing the electrical and water supply systems within the cargo hold. All furniture had to be custom-designed to fit the curved walls of the space, and the team aimed to minimize the limited space using light colors, concrete textures, and natural wood.
Airplane villas are being offered for rent with rooms costing up to thousands of dollars per night.
The interior design subtly incorporates rounded shapes throughout, echoing the tubular form of the aircraft's fuselage, including the bathroom and several smaller interior accents. Mirrors are installed to create the illusion of a larger space, and natural light is maximized, both through the use of original windows and some new additions.
Visitors arrive by road or using the nearby helipad and enter the interior via a floating staircase connecting to a large communal kitchen, living room, and dining room in the center. This, in turn, connects to the two wings of the aircraft, where terraces offer stunning views of the landscape, with one wing protruding significantly over the cliff.
The airplane wing was transformed into a balcony with a sea view.
The central area connects to two bedrooms. The first bedroom is located in what used to be the cockpit. This room has a hot tub and a double bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom. At the rear is another bedroom, also with an en-suite bathroom.
The airplane door opens to the sky, with mesh seats for enjoying the view.
The original aircraft doors were also retained and neatly arranged, opening from the sleeping quarters to small mesh areas for reading and relaxing while enjoying the view. Elsewhere, on the ground next to the aircraft, is a cantilevered swimming pool.
The living room area features glass doors that can be opened and closed.
