The contest is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in coordination with the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the City University and College Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City National University for students studying at universities, academies and colleges in the city. The new point of this year's contest is that in addition to testing students' knowledge through multiple-choice tests and traditional knowledge questions and answers, the organizing committee innovates the contest format in the direction of applying and exploiting students' presentation, reasoning and debating skills and proposing solutions and suggestions to solve specific practical problems.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, comrade Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: This year's contest is one of the specific solutions to implement Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and Directive No. 42-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the period 2015-2030 among students in the city. In addition, the contest is a useful and practical playground, fostering students' love for Marxist-Leninist science subjects, Ho Chi Minh's ideology as well as promoting the ability to apply knowledge to life.
The contest has 2 categories to reach a wide range of students. In particular, with the individual category, contestants compete online on the contest website at https://anhsangsoiduong.com.vn or on the application (app) "Vietnamese Students". 100 outstanding students from the preliminary round will enter the semi-finals to select 15 excellent contestants to compete in the final round.
For the team board, the members are members of the youth theory club of universities, academies, and colleges. After completing the online competition, if the conditions for participation are met by the organizing committee, each team will develop a project with the theme "Solutions to fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight to refute wrong and hostile views suitable for students in the new situation". The jury will evaluate and select the 10 teams with the highest scores to participate in the final round.
The contest takes place from May 18 to July 15. The first prize winner of the individual category and the first prize winner of the team category will represent the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to participate in the cluster round of the 5th National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought "Light to the Path" in 2023.
