Da Nang welcomes nearly 1.9 million visitors, tourism revenue skyrockets
On the morning of July 14, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City announced that it had just released a quick report on the tourist situation during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2025.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments during DIFF (45 days from June 31 to July 12) is estimated to reach more than 1.88 million (an increase of 26% compared to the 2024 Fireworks Festival, with an estimated 504,000 during the 6 days of the Festival).
Especially on the final night of the event, the overall room occupancy rate of the whole city reached the highest level in 3 consecutive years from the DIFF 2023 season (95-97%).
International visitors to Da Nang on the occasion of DIFF 2025
At prominent destinations in the region, the number of visitors also increased sharply. Sun World Ba Na Hills reached nearly 800,000 visitors (up 8% over the same period), Hoi An reached 450,000 visitors, Than Tai Hot Spring Park reached 200,000 visitors, up 65%, Da Nang Museum reached 42,000 visitors, and Ngu Hanh Son Scenic Area reached 225,000 visitors.
Revenue from accommodation, catering and travel services during the festival is estimated at VND5,600 billion, up 45% over the same period in 2024.
DIFF - a boost for tourism, affirming the brand of "event city"
DIFF 2025 marks the largest festival season ever with 6 nights of fireworks displays, themed “Da Nang - New Era”, bringing together 10 international teams from the following countries: Vietnam (2 teams), China, Finland, England, Portugal, Poland, Korea, Italy and Canada.
The final night of July 12 witnessed an eye-catching competition between the two best teams: Jiangxi Yangfeng (China) and Z121 - Vina Pyrotech (Vietnam). As a result, the Chinese team won the championship, while the home team participated in the finals for the first time and left many proud feelings in the hearts of the people and tourists.
The success of DIFF 2025 is not only reflected in impressive numbers but also a testament to Da Nang's professional and creative organization and strategic vision in tourism and service development.
The sharp increase in passenger numbers has also led to an explosion in demand for air transport. During the festival, Da Nang airport operates 26 regular routes, including 18 international routes and 8 domestic routes, an increase of 3 international routes compared to 2024.
On average, there are 157 flights per day, including 53 international flights. On July 11 alone - right before the final night - the number of flights peaked at 171, an increase of 21 flights compared to normal days.
The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City recognized that after more than a decade of development, DIFF is not only a fireworks festival, but has become a symbol of international exchange, hospitality and creativity of Da Nang.
The city clearly defines the strategy of making DIFF the core in the series of unique cultural - sports - tourism events of Da Nang every year to attract and serve tourists and residents.
Every summer, the image of roads leading to the Han River packed with people and vehicles, hotels fully booked, and restaurants bustling with diners has become a familiar "specialty" of Da Nang.
With the combination of art, technology and emotion, DIFF 2025 not only brings unique experiences to visitors but also demonstrates Da Nang's strong development aspirations in the new era.
