The Department of Insurance Management and Supervision ( Ministry of Finance ) said that based on quick reports from insurance companies, as of July 21, the total amount of compensation and insurance payments is expected to be 14.27 billion VND.
In particular, in the field of non-life insurance, the total expected insurance compensation is 4.2 billion VND. Specifically, civil liability insurance of ship owners for passengers and crew accident insurance (Bao Long): expected compensation amount is 1.2 billion VND. Passenger accident insurance (Bao Viet co-insurance with PTI, MIC, BSH): expected compensation amount is 2 billion VND. Credit insurance (AAA): expected compensation amount is 1 billion VND.
In the field of life insurance: Bao Viet 2 billion VND; Generali 4.2 billion VND; Manulife 3.02 billion VND; Prudential 0.1 billion VND; Dai-ichi 0.7 billion VND; AIA 0.05 billion VND. Total estimated insurance amount 10.07 billion VND
"Insurance companies have proactively contacted the families of the victims to proceed with compensation and insurance payments. However, according to information from insurance companies, currently, the victims and their families have not yet completed the procedures to receive insurance benefits because they are in the process of treating injuries and burial.
