'Youth Meal' provides support for students taking exams in the mountainous region of Da Nang.

TPO - Youth meals organized by the Youth Union branches in mountainous communes of Da Nang City are supporting many ethnic minority students during the 10th grade entrance exam. From the bustling kitchens in the highlands to a series of activities in the "Supporting the Exam Season" program, the youth of Da Nang are accompanying tens of thousands of candidates as they overcome the challenges of the exam.

This year, the La Dêê examination center is designated for 184 students from the communes of La Dêê, La Êê, Đắc Pring, and Nam Giang. These are all difficult mountainous communes, with the distances from the villages to the examination center being quite far, making travel along mountain roads arduous. Understanding these difficulties, the Youth Union of the four communes has launched a "Youth Meal" model to support the students, mobilizing volunteers to be stationed at the school to assist them.

4. The commune's Youth Union proactively coordinated with schools, functional forces, and benefactors to provide transportation for students and prepare free meals and drinks for candidates throughout the examination period.

From early morning, the youth union members were present to help prepare meals. In addition, the youth force also cleaned the temporary accommodation area and encouraged the students before the exam. The hot meals, with their simple yet nutritious dishes, became a special source of encouragement for the students from the highlands.

According to Mr. Zơ Râm Hải, Secretary of the La Dêê Commune Youth Union, the model was implemented to support and provide excellent logistical assistance so that ethnic minority students could confidently complete their 10th-grade entrance exams. “We hope to further motivate them to confidently complete the exams. This is the first phase of this year's Exam Support Program. The second phase will continue during the high school graduation exams with more practical models for students in mountainous areas,” Mr. Hải shared.

To support candidates and their families before and during the 2026-2027 high school entrance exam, the Da Nang City Youth Union and Student Association have established 122 exam support teams with nearly 2,000 volunteers at 110 exam locations (serving over 43,500 candidates).

With specific accompanying activities such as: organizing traffic flow, guiding and ensuring traffic safety, organizing transportation for candidates with special circumstances, providing free drinking water and school supplies to candidates..., the "blue shirts" of Da Nang supported tens of thousands of students in their exams. Many models have been implemented by commune and ward Youth Unions to practically support students during this important exam period, such as: Volunteer support for the exam season, Youth meal program, Zero-cost motorbike taxi team…

Previously, the Exam Support Program in Da Nang had implemented information channels to receive support needs from candidates, initiated connections between volunteers and candidates, especially those with special circumstances, and introduced reputable online study channels and free exam preparation platforms…

In addition, many activities to boost the morale of Gen Z students have been implemented, attracting a large number of students, such as: the "Mindcare - Mental Support Station" program series and online exam information counseling on social media platforms, the "Say Hi Exam Season" communication design competition, the "Exam Season Memory Station" model, etc.

According to Mr. Le Cong Hung, Secretary of the City Youth Union, this year's "Supporting Students During Exams" program not only focuses on familiar material support activities at exam sites, but the city's Youth Union and Associations are also paying special attention to providing moral support and online volunteering with many new and creative activities on social media platforms. "Celebrating 25 years of the 'Supporting Students During Exams' program, we hope to create a solid foundation to help students relieve pressure and confidently achieve the best possible results," Mr. Hung said.
