After seven days of vibrant activities, the closing ceremony of the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2023 was held on the evening of December 10th in front of the City Post Office (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to statistics, during Tourism Week, the city attracted 71,000 visitors who interacted across various tourist areas; hundreds of millions of views on mass media and social networks; accommodation occupancy rates reached 80% during the event; and revenue for businesses participating in the tourism stimulus program increased.
2,500 locals and tourists joined together to color a doodle artwork that set a Vietnamese record.
Of these, Penguin Travel Company alone organized tours for 6,000 customers, generating nearly 1.6 billion VND in revenue.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that in the bustling atmosphere of the year-end days, all those working in tourism from the district to the city level were urgently carrying out a series of activities to serve the people and tourists, promote destinations, and spread the message of green tourism.
These ambassadors helped promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City during Tourism Week.
At the closing ceremony, the Vietnam Record Organization recognized the 3m x 22m doodle artwork, created from 22 pieces representing Thu Duc City and its 21 districts and counties, with images inspired by culture and tourism, as "The largest tourism-themed doodle artwork of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam".
This painting, created over 80 hours by 25 artists, depicts the unique characteristics, traditions, and tourist destinations of each locality, and was completed by 2,500 people who joined in coloring it. Through this, the painting contributes to promoting the image and tourism brand of Ho Chi Minh City.
