On the evening of December 3rd, at the WTC International Exhibition Center (Binh Duong Ward), the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2025 and Shopping Seasons : Binh Duong Mega Sale officially took place, marking the beginning of the biggest shopping and tourism event of the year. The event aims to promote the image of a dynamic, expanding Ho Chi Minh City, integrating a modern industrial and commercial ecosystem, while stimulating domestic and international consumption and creating momentum for sustainable economic growth.

More than just a large-scale promotional event, it also creates a space for the intersection of commerce, tourism, culture, and entertainment; contributing to portraying a new image of Ho Chi Minh City – modern, creative, and vibrant.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade , emphasized: The industrial, trade, and service sectors continue to play a leading role, accounting for approximately 50% of the new Ho Chi Minh City's GRDP. In particular, in the context of Ho Chi Minh City aiming for double-digit growth in many economic indicators, close coordination between trade and tourism becomes essential to create diverse products and services capable of strongly attracting domestic and international tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong emphasized that this is the first time the two departments have coordinated to organize a joint program at the newly merged ward location in Ho Chi Minh City, marking the beginning of a long-term linkage between localities in the region.
In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Tourism are coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to develop shopping routes and destinations linked to culture, cuisine, healthcare, and improve transportation conditions to enhance the tourist experience.

From the perspective of the coordinating organization, Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, stated: The event is being implemented to create a shopping space with preferential offers, while also supporting the overall tourism industry's goal of welcoming 8.5 million international tourists and 40 million domestic tourists in 2025, with revenue of 290,000 billion VND.
Ms. Cam Tu emphasized that tourism is a comprehensive economic sector; therefore, programs linking with the fields of industry and trade, culture and sports, and science and technology play a crucial role in expanding the value of services, enriching experiences, and enhancing the attractiveness of Ho Chi Minh City to tourists.

In the coming period, the Department of Tourism and the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to maintain the Shopping Season according to the city's characteristic festival seasons, creating opportunities for international tourists to experience the events and increase their spending.
The second phase of the Shopping Season promotional program runs from November 15th to December 31st, 2025, offering deep discounts of up to 80% to support businesses in stimulating demand during the peak year-end season. In particular, the "City Sale" - second phase of 2025, is a highlight, expanded to the Binh Duong and Vung Tau areas, contributing to spreading the appeal of shopping and tourism throughout the region.
