Anticipating the "golden season" of tourism and increasing competitiveness, the province has developed a series of attractive cultural, sports , and tourism events and programs, showcasing the unique characteristics of Quang Ninh during this summer.
According to the plan, 170 tourism stimulus programs, events, and activities will be organized in the area in 2025. Of these, 24 will be international, national, and provincial-level tourism stimulus programs, events, and activities; and 146 will be local-level tourism stimulus programs, events, and activities. In the first two months of the year and the first half of March 2025, approximately 50 programs, events, and activities were organized, including 3 provincial-level events and 47 local-level events. In the second half of March 2025 alone, 13 programs, events, and activities continued to take place, including 3 international, national, and provincial-level tourism stimulus programs, events, and activities. The total number of tourists in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at 5.5 million, including 1.45 million international tourists; total tourism revenue is estimated at 11,120 billion VND.
In the second quarter, the tourism industry aims to welcome 5.3 million visitors; total tourism revenue is estimated at 14,720 billion VND. To attract tourists during this peak season, the tourism industry is organizing 55 programs and events, including 25 programs and events to stimulate international, national, and provincial tourism. These activities are built upon the unique characteristics of Quang Ninh. According to Nguyen The Hue, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Tourism Association, businesses and units have planned to build a unique culinary brand for Quang Ninh, starting from the food festivals, beer festivals, and squid cake festivals that Quang Ninh has previously organized. In addition, they are developing cruise tourism, maximizing the potential of the province's synchronized infrastructure; strongly promoting the abundant potential of community tourism, creating new products and increasing competitiveness with destinations in the region.
Particularly during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, 11 notable events will take place, such as: the Ha Long Carnival 2025, the Bach Dang Traditional Festival, the Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Culture Festival 2025, the National Archery Championship, the Cuong Anh Cup Sports Dance Competition, the Aqua Warriors HaLong Bay 2025, the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Summer 2025, the Beer and Squid Cake Festival, the Hot Air Balloon Festival, the Motorized Kite and Paragliding Festival, the Ha Long City Lion Dance Festival...; the Uong Bi Summer Welcome Program, and the Mong Cai tourism activities "Impressions of the Northernmost Point of the Fatherland" in 2025. Notably, the province will launch new tours of Bai Tu Long Bay in Quang Ninh province in 2025 to create new tourism products and diversify experiences, extending the length of stay for tourists.
Notably, art and music programs are expected to attract a huge number of visitors to Quang Ninh. These include the "Skywave Ha Long" art program, featuring singer Son Tung M-TP and a host of other famous singers, attracting approximately 10,000 spectators, held in April at Sun Carnival Square, Ha Long City. In addition, the "Legend of the Heritage Region" art program will be held in Ha Long City, Mong Cai, and other tourist areas and attractions. The program includes traditional music and dance performances promoting the natural beauty, culture, history, and people of Quang Ninh, enhancing the province's tourism promotion and communication efforts to ensure the goal of developing tourism in a professional, high-quality, and sustainable manner, linking tourism development with the preservation and promotion of national cultural values and identity.
Furthermore, from March to June 2025, a series of activities and events will take place as part of the Art For Climate Festival Ha Long 2025 program, such as: Exhibitions of artworks by Vietnamese and international artists combined with the Merea x Women Dior collection (April-June 2025); art auctions to raise funds for heritage protection and climate change mitigation (April and June 2025); Opening Ceremony of the Art For Climate Festival Ha Long 2025 (June 2025); Art For Climate Runshow (June 2025); International Music Festival (June 2025); International Culinary Exchange (June 2025); “Art for Climate Marathon Ha Long 2025” (October 2025)…
In response to the province's plans, Sun Group has also introduced a series of tourism events. These include the Yacht and Cruise Festival combined with the Yacht Night Street product, which was successfully organized many years ago. The company is organizing festivals in the cable car and Ferris wheel area after the infrastructure was renovated following the impact of Typhoon No. 3/2024.
Along with the tourism industry, localities are also quickly implementing tourism events, creating maximum conditions for businesses to develop and implement tourism products and events. Mr. Dao Van Vu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Don district, said: In 2025, the locality will introduce 5 new tourism products, with the Bai Tu Long Bay tourism product receiving special attention. The locality has created all conditions for cruise ship businesses to survey routes and resolve difficulties and obstacles within the local authority's jurisdiction. In addition, it is actively calling for investors to develop the fleet of ships and tour itineraries in Bai Tu Long Bay, making maximum use of the high-speed infrastructure and Ao Tien International Cruise Port to attract tourists.
