From October 2023 to the present, the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the grassroots level has been held enthusiastically throughout the province; creating a competitive atmosphere for student athletes, helping them develop comprehensively in terms of physical and mental health.

Through this, we aim to identify, select, and train students with athletic talent; invest in strengthening facilities, equipment, and tools for training and competing in school sports; and improve the professional quality and expertise of referees officiating in various sports...

These are the solid foundations for the successful and impressive 7th Quang Tri Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, and for achieving high results in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.

Principal Le Chi Thong of Huong Hoa High School shared: “On October 22, 2023, Huong Hoa High School held the opening ceremony of the School-level Physical Education Excellence Competition for the 2023-2024 school year.

The opening ceremony was solemn and brief, yet vibrant and engaging, featuring sports dances set to World Cup 2022 music, martial arts demonstrations, and more. This was followed by the announcement of the establishment of the Organizing Committee, the Referee Committee, subcommittees, and the oath-taking ceremony for the athletes and referees. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes underwent health checks, warm-ups, and preparations for competition.

The school-level Physical Education competition for gifted students featured seven events: girls' football; boys' and girls' volleyball; athletics; table tennis; sepak takraw; badminton; and swimming. Overall, the classes were well-prepared in terms of technique, spirit, and competition attire.

The matches were exciting, intense, and of high quality, with enthusiastic support from the athletes and the students, teachers, and parents. The competition was conducted safely, seriously, and achieved outstanding results.

This creates a healthy and beneficial playground for students throughout the school, while also helping them enhance their team spirit, interact, learn from each other, and providing an opportunity for students to showcase their athletic talents. Currently, the school has established a coaching staff, teams, and arranged training schedules for various competitions...

Huong Hoa High School is expected to participate in the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival with over 70 athletes, competing in football, volleyball, athletics, badminton, swimming, sepak takraw, and Karate. With thorough preparation in all aspects, we are confident in bringing many new colors to the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival, determined to achieve high results in the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, honesty, and nobility.”

From February 2024 to the present, the Phu Dong Sports Festival for the Education and Training Departments has been taking place enthusiastically in all districts, towns, and cities.

According to Nguyen Van Huu, Deputy Head of the Education and Training Department of Vinh Linh district, in order for the 11th Vinh Linh District Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 to be successful, the Organizing Committee has widely disseminated information about the purpose and significance of the Phu Dong Sports Festival to all schools; directed and guided schools to prepare well in all aspects; and ensured the provision of facilities and equipment for the competitions; and ensured security and safety at the competition venues...

The Phu Dong Sports Festival of the district will take place from February 26th to March 11th, 2024; featuring competitions in 9 sports with 41 events; with approximately 1,145 athletes participating. The District Department of Education and Training has also developed a plan to select talented athletes to participate in the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival, continuing to clearly identify strengths in men's and women's volleyball; football, athletics, sepak takraw... determined to maintain the high achievements attained in previous years.

Currently, 9 district, town, and city Departments of Education and Training and many schools are organizing the Phu Dong Sports Festival on an appropriate scale, in a solemn and economical manner, ensuring absolute safety for people and property. Athletes compete wholeheartedly with the determination to achieve high results; the referees officiate the competitions fairly, objectively, and accurately...

By proactively taking into account the specific characteristics and conditions, schools and localities have ensured that the organization of the Phu Dong Sports Festival is well-prepared, from the number of competitive events to the infrastructure, venues, and equipment. Schools have proactively assigned staff and teachers to supervise the participating athletes in each sport, ensuring their accommodation, meals, and transportation during the festival.

As a result, the performance of students in most competitions has improved. According to the plan, all organizing units will complete the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the grassroots level before March 15, 2024; and continue to prepare well in all aspects to participate in the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the provincial level.

According to Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the provincial level - the High School Student Sports Festival - is organized to continue maintaining and promoting the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh," and to encourage regular practice and competition in sports in high schools.

Through this, we will evaluate the physical education and sports activities in schools; identify students with talent in various sports for selection, training, and preparation to participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 and other sports competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

This year, to ensure the successful and safe conduct of the competitions, the Department of Education and Training has directed the Education and Training Departments of districts, towns, and cities, as well as schools throughout the province, to implement the plan for organizing the Phu Dong Sports Festival at all levels right from the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

Simultaneously, units are selecting outstanding athletes in various sports to participate in the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival. This year's Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival will feature competitions in 11 sports with 85 events; it will take place in two phases in Dong Ha City, with phase 1 from March 27-31 and phase 2 from April 8-12. The Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival is scheduled to open at 8:00 AM on April 8, 2024 at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Gymnasium and close at 2:30 PM on April 12, 2024 at the Department of Education and Training.

The education sector is determined to create a solid foundation, aiming for the success of the major sports event for students across the province.
