The program welcoming over 50 new Indian medical students marks a significant step forward in the university's journey of international integration. This is one of the strategies for internationalizing medical education that Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy is steadfastly pursuing.

On November 11, 2025, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy (BMU) organized a welcoming program for 52 new Indian medical students of the 2025 cohort, combined with training on regulations and rules for international students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Speaking at the event, Professor Cao Tien Duc, Rector of BMU, shared that the event marks an important step in BMU's journey of international integration, affirming the university's continuous efforts in expanding medical education cooperation with countries around the world. The presence of the students is proof of the prestige, quality of training, and the internationalization strategy of medical education that BMU is steadfastly pursuing.

As part of the program, new students visited the Buon Ma Thuot University Medical Center (BUH) – the clinical practice location for their training program. In addition, students received training on training regulations, academic rules, and student affairs, as well as guidance on Vietnamese laws and regulations for foreigners.

Sharing her feelings at the program, Ina – a new Indian student in the 2025 cohort – said: “I learned about Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy through my former teacher. He was very enthusiastic, guiding me throughout the application process and making all procedures easy and smooth. That's what made me feel confident in deciding to study at BMU. The accommodation here is also great, with both South Indian and North Indian food, so even though we are far from home, we still feel like we are at home.”

The first Vietnam - India Friendship Association branch in the province .

On the same day, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association of Dak Lak province held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Vietnam-India Friendship Association Branch at Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

This is the first grassroots branch established within the Vietnam-India Friendship Association system in the province. The Executive Committee of the branch consists of 10 members, with Dr. Luu Viet Tinh – Vice Rector and Chairman of the Trade Union of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy – serving as Branch Chairman; Mr. Vo Hoang Son – Head of Admissions Department – ​​serving as Branch Vice Chairman, along with other members who are lecturers, doctors, and staff of the university.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations – Mr. Phan Dac Hoan, Vice Chairman in charge, and Mr. Nie Khanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Union, along with representatives of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, announced and presented the Decision appointing Professor, Doctor, Senior Physician Cao Tien Duc – Rector of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy – to the position of Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association of Dak Lak Province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Cao Tien Duc expressed his honor to be a member of the Association's Standing Committee. Professor Cao Tien Duc affirmed that he, along with the school's staff and members of the branch association, will play a bridging role in promoting friendly cooperation and exchanges in science, education, and healthcare between Vietnam and India.
In the coming period, the branch plans to implement many meaningful activities: organizing seminars and scientific conferences on Vietnamese and Indian traditional medicine; cultural and academic exchanges with Indian students and partners; and carrying out charitable programs and community health care.
