Step forward in the journey of international integration

The program to welcome more than 50 new Indian medical students is an event that marks an important step in the journey of international integration. This is one of the strategies to internationalize medical education that Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy is steadfastly pursuing.

On November 11, 2025, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy (BMU) organized a program to welcome 52 new Indian medical students of the 2025 course, combined with training on regulations and rules at the beginning of the year for international students of the 2025-2026 school year.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Cao Tien Duc - President of BMU shared that the event marked an important step in BMU's international integration journey, affirming the School's continuous efforts in expanding medical education cooperation with countries around the world. The presence of the students is a testament to the prestige, training quality and internationalization strategy of medical education that BMU is steadfastly pursuing.

Within the framework of the program, the new students visited Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (BUH) - the place where clinical practice is conducted in the training program. In addition, the students were trained in training regulations, training regulations, academic regulations and student affairs, as well as instructions on Vietnamese laws for foreigners.

Sharing her feelings at the program, Ina - a new Indian student of the 2025 class said: “I learned about Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy through my old teacher. He was very enthusiastic, guided me throughout the application process and made all the procedures easy and smooth. That is what made me feel confident in deciding to study at BMU. The accommodation here is also great, with both South Indian and North Indian dishes, so even though we are far away from home, we still feel like we are at home.”

The first Vietnam - India Friendship Association in the province

On the same day, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Dak Lak province held a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

This is the first grassroots branch formed in the Vietnam - India Friendship Association system in the province. The Executive Committee of the Branch consists of 10 members, led by Dr. Luu Viet Tinh - Vice Principal, Chairman of the Trade Union of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy as Branch Chairman; MSc. Vo Hoang Son - Head of Admissions Office as Vice Chairman, and members who are lecturers, doctors, and staff of the school.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations - Mr. Phan Dac Hoan, Vice President in charge and Mr. Nie Khanh Hai, Vice President of the Union, together with representatives of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association, announced and presented the Decision appointing Prof. Dr. Cao Tien Duc - Principal of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy to hold the position of Vice President of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Dak Lak province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Cao Tien Duc expressed his honor to be a member of the Standing Committee of the Association. Prof. Cao Tien Duc affirmed that he will, together with the school and the members of the Association, promote the role of a bridge, promoting friendly cooperation activities, scientific, educational and medical exchanges between Vietnam and India.
In the coming time, the Association plans to carry out many meaningful activities: Organizing seminars and scientific workshops on traditional medicine between Vietnam and India; cultural and academic exchanges with Indian students and partners; implementing volunteer programs and community health care.
