In Hai Phong, there are currently 4 " Post Office Department Stores" serving the public.

New service from the postal industry

On October 20th, a department store with an area of ​​over 100 square meters, located on the premises of the Cam Giang Post Office, was inaugurated in Tu Minh Ward, serving the local community. This location is right in the center of Tu Minh Ward (formerly Cam Giang District), with a high population density and convenient transportation and access to amenities.

The store is like a mini-supermarket with full amenities, selling a wide variety of essential consumer products, from food, household goods, cosmetics to clothing and technology products for daily life. The shelves are designed and arranged scientifically , conveniently and attractively.

Since its opening, the Cam Giang "Post Office Department Store" has attracted the attention and shopping interest of many people, especially housewives.

Regarding her shopping experience at the store, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, residing in Thong Nhat residential area (Tu Minh ward), said that the goods on display are quite diverse, meeting almost all daily consumer needs. "Here, I can find and buy many products at once in a clean, cool, and convenient space, instead of having to go to multiple locations like in traditional markets. The store is open until 8 PM every day, which is also quite convenient for workers and laborers," Ms. Thuy shared.

Choosing to buy some agricultural products at the Cam Giang "Post Office Department Store," Mr. Le Trung Kien from Tue Tinh Street, Tu Minh Ward, assessed that the products were quite fresh and of good quality, with prices publicly displayed and no need for bargaining. He also felt reassured that all products had labels and clear information about their origin.

Besides the Cam Giang Post Office, Hai Phong currently has three other "Post Office Department Stores" that started operating on October 20th: Kinh Mon Post Office, No. 235 Mac Toan Street (Kinh Mon Ward); Chi Linh Post Office, No. 233 Nguyen Trai Street (Chu Van An Ward); and Binh Giang Post Office, Street 38 (Ke Sat Commune).

This is a new type of service offered by Vietnam Post, selected for implementation at central post offices with large areas, dense populations, and convenient transportation.

Multipurpose service center

According to Doan Trung Tuyen, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Post Office, the "Post Office Department Store" is a modern retail model integrated into a traditional postal space. The development of this model aims to diversify operations and utilize existing infrastructure to expand services.

The post office department store combines many convenient services.

This contributes to realizing Vietnam Post's development orientation of transforming its service points into multi-functional, friendly service centers that provide maximum convenience and fully meet the essential needs of the people.

Previously, people mainly went to post offices to send letters and deliver goods. Now, with the "Post Office Department Store" model, people can shop for essential goods and use multiple services simultaneously, such as postal delivery, postal finance, public administration, and utility payments, all at the same service point.

Each "Post Office Department Store" location will have approximately 2,000 essential consumer products. These products are selected from reputable suppliers, ensuring their origin and quality. These locations also prioritize selling agricultural products and regional/local specialties.

Besides Hai Phong, the "Post Office Department Store" model is being implemented by Vietnam Post in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to operate 200 stores nationwide.

Currently, the "Post Office Department Store" locations are continuing to improve their organization and understand customer needs to enhance service quality, aiming to become a reliable shopping destination for every family and citizen.

After two weeks of operation, the four "Post Office Department Stores" in Hai Phong city have attracted the attention, shopping, and service usage of many people. Average revenue reached over 10 million VND per day per location.
