Mr. Hong Chuong, a farmer who invented agricultural machines in Lac Lam commune, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province. The agricultural machines invented by this farmer who is only 8 years old mostly use mechanical devices, with few electronic devices, so they are very suitable for farmers who are not very knowledgeable about modern technology.

Having only finished 8th grade, up to now, Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong (48 years old, Lac Thanh village, Lac Lam commune, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province) has researched and manufactured nearly 50 types of agricultural machinery products for the domestic market and many countries around the world .

This farmer inventor continues to diligently research and invent many types of automatic agricultural machines to reduce labor and increase productivity for farmers.

His Hong Chuong Agricultural Machinery Research and Application Facility is preparing to produce many types of sophisticated agricultural machinery.

Outstanding among them is the 6-in-1 automatic vacuum seeder, which can do the work of 30-32 workers.

The user only needs to pour the substrate into the sieve cage and the seeds into the tray. The machine will automatically screen, mix the substrate, close the tray, compress the holes, insert the seeds and arrange the tray outside.

It is noteworthy that the machines invented by Mr. Hong Chuong mostly use mechanical devices, with few electronic devices, so they are very suitable for farmers who are not very knowledgeable about modern technology.

Born into a farming family in Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province, Nguyen Hong Chuong followed his family to Don Duong district, Lam Dong province to start a business in the 1980s.

Due to difficult life, after finishing 8th grade, he had to drop out of school to stay home and farm with his family.

He has been thinking a lot about how to free up labor, when farmers only know how to do manual work, with low productivity.

Since childhood, Mr. Chuong has been very fond of inventions, even making toys to sell to children in the village.

In 2004, he had his first invention that was effectively applied to production. At that time, his family was so poor that he rented 8,000 square meters of land to grow vegetables.

Because he had to work on such a large area by himself, he researched and manufactured a high-performance pesticide sprayer.

This sprayer can spray 8,000-10,000m2 of commercial vegetables per hour, replacing 4-6 workers, and reducing toxicity to workers.

After this initial success, in 2007, Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong saved up more than 7 million VND, then bought iron and steel, researched and successfully manufactured a vacuum seeding machine. This is the first product but very useful for farmers when doing high-tech nursery.

The reason he researched this type of machine is because every day when he goes to work at nurseries, he sees many people working in groups to sow seeds into pots and soil trays. This step requires a lot of meticulousness and labor.

From his passion and initial success, in 2008, Nguyen Hong Chuong borrowed money from friends and boldly established the Hong Chuong Agricultural Machinery Application Research Facility.

The technological products serving agriculture invented by him were born one after another such as vacuum seeding machine; automatic soil packing machine into pots; vegetable juicer; high-performance pesticide sprayer; soil packing machine into foam trays; mud grinder; mud grinder combined with conveyor belt; humus sieve; fruit and vegetable washing, polishing and sorting machine; multi-purpose fruit and vegetable washing and polishing machine; automatic plant potting machine...

Mr. Chuong’s inventions are favored by many Malaysian businesses and have received orders. In 2012, his facility signed a contract to produce agricultural machinery with partners in East Asian countries.

In 2017, within 2 weeks, Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong improved and designed a new automatic vacuum seeder with larger capacity, with an automatic 6-in-1 system.

His products have been widely sold nationwide and exported to Hong Kong, Taiwan (China), Laos, Cambodia..., especially consumed in Malaysia.

This machine achieves high accuracy, does not drop seeds, and sows an average of nearly 27,000 seeds per hour.

Each of these seeders can replace 10-12 workers but only consumes 0.5 kw/h of electricity.

Hong Chuong facility is producing 6-in-1 automatic vacuum seeders that can replace 30-32 workers, made from stainless steel so they are very durable, beautiful and favored by gardeners. The facility's products have been widely consumed nationwide.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong has expanded his mechanical workshop to over 1,000 square meters with a total investment of about 2.2 billion VND.

He also built a smart greenhouse for growing vegetables, with an automatic temperature and humidity control system thanks to a self-moving roof system, a sensor-based watering system; a super clean family vegetable farming system, helping many households in high-rise apartments in the city to grow their own clean vegetables to eat...

Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, graduated from Cao Thang Technical College, Ho Chi Minh City and has worked at Hong Chuong Facility for 13 years.

Mr. Thang shared that at first he just wanted to come here to try and learn how the boss, who only finished 8th grade, could invent so many useful machines.

Working here for a while, he admired "Barefoot Engineer" Nguyen Hong Chuong and has stayed there until now.

I admire him even more because he can play many musical instruments such as piano, saxophone, violin... and plays very professionally in the local church orchestra.

In the factory, Mr. Chuong arranged a room for people with the same interest to perform music in their free time.

From his inventions, Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong was honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province...

In 2017, he was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal for his outstanding achievements in applying science and technology, manufacturing machines for the production of high-tech agricultural machinery, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

In 2018, he was honored at the first Ceremony to honor 53 farmers' scientists organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

Evaluating and recognizing the achievements of Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Mr. Pham S, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, said that with difficult conditions like Don Duong district, Mr. Chuong's efforts and creativity are very commendable.

The provincial government hopes to further expand creative inventions to serve high-tech agricultural production, not only contributing to local economic development but also reaching out to domestic and foreign markets./.
