Ca Mau invests more than 1,100 billion VND determined to create a breakthrough in education quality

Ca Mau province thoroughly grasps and implements two major projects to effectively implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW (dated August 22, 2025) of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.

On the morning of September 24, at the Conference to remove difficulties for the education sector at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province thoroughly grasped the synchronous implementation of 2 key projects of the province with a total budget of more than 1,122 billion VND, with the highest determination in creating a breakthrough in the quality and conditions of teaching and learning in the province.

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Education and Training approved the decisions of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on the implementation of: The project of teaching 2 sessions/day and organizing boarding schools, with a total budget of more than 942.6 billion VND; The project of investing in clean drinking water systems and toilets for public kindergartens and primary schools in the province with a total budget of more than 179 billion VND.

The above two projects will be implemented by Ca Mau until 2027, focusing resources on new construction, additional construction of classrooms, boarding rooms, cafeterias, restrooms, purchasing essential equipment, etc.

The general goal is to meet the learning and living needs of students at different levels throughout the day at school, ensuring a clean, safe, and civilized school environment, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.

Many schools in the Ca Mau river region have difficult travel conditions and need to organize boarding schools to reduce the burden of picking up and dropping off parents.

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan, with the implementation of the above key projects, Ca Mau is demonstrating its determination to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Central and Government on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training.

“To effectively implement this, every level and sector in Ca Mau must make efforts. Because no matter how good the resolution is, if we do not try, do not think, do not change… the results will not be as expected,” Comrade Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan "outlined" 9 issues that need attention to ensure that the projects are implemented synchronously and effectively. In particular, he emphasized strong decentralization, assigning the People's Committees at the commune level to directly direct implementation and resolve the most urgent needs first.

Regarding the coordination mechanism, departments and branches such as Finance and Construction are assigned to support the education sector and localities in the province: Appraisal, resource allocation and compliance with technical regulations. The province also calls for promoting socialization, mobilizing businesses and parents with conditions to join hands in addition to the state budget.

The Department of Home Affairs is assigned to develop a set of criteria to evaluate and classify the quality of leadership of educational institutions from the 2025-2026 school year, including specific criteria on school governance, public asset management, and ensuring school hygiene and the quality of boarding meals.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau is assigned to take full responsibility before the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the progress, quality, and effectiveness of the implementation of the projects, and must make a written commitment to the Provincial People's Committee before September 30, 2025, in order to prevent waste, negativity, corruption, group interests, etc.

Regarding the activities at the beginning of the school year, comrade Nguyen Minh Luan proposed to rectify the sources of income outside the regulations. In particular, each school and principal of schools in the province must strictly implement, collect the correct and full amount of fees, not collect fees outside the regulations in any form, even if the fees are according to the wishes of the students' parents.
