Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station receives foreigners.
At around 2:00 p.m. on June 8, Mr. Dang Van Phil (39 years old, in Sao Luoi Hamlet, Khanh Binh Tay Bac Commune, Tran Van Thoi District, Ca Mau Province) - captain of fishing boat CM-91753, discovered 8 foreigners moving on a raft and signaled for help. Mr. Phil contacted the boat owner, Mr. Phan Tan Sin (45 years old, in Hamlet 6, Khanh Lam Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province) to report the incident. Mr. Sin then went directly to Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station to report the incident. Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station contacted Mr. Phil and requested assistance in rescuing these people, bringing them to shore and handing them over to the Border Guard Station.
After receiving the foreigners, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station provided food and health care and carried out the reception steps according to regulations.
Currently, the health and mental condition of all 8 people admitted are stable.
Through initial verification, the Border Guard force recorded that among the 8 foreigners, there were 7 Thais and 1 Cambodian. These people said they were on a food supply vehicle, a total of 9 people (7 men, 2 women). Their vehicle sank at sea, 1 man went missing, the remaining 8 people built a raft and drifted to Vietnamese waters.
Currently, the health and spirit of foreign crew members are stable.
