Fresh rice prices remain stable, transactions are quiet in many places

In An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Soc Trang ..., rice prices today remain stable. OM 5451 rice fluctuates at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg, OM 18 at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, IR 50404 around 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg. Some varieties such as Nang Hoa 9 and Dai Thom 8 remain high at 6,100 - 6,200 VND/kg.

Raw rice prices fluctuate slightly, by-product prices decrease

Raw rice prices fluctuated today. IR 504 rice increased by VND50/kg to VND8,500-8,600/kg. On the contrary, 5451 raw rice decreased by VND200, fluctuating between VND9,500-9,700/kg. Some other types such as CL 555 and OM 380 remained around VND9,000-9,100/kg and VND8,150-8,250/kg.

By-products tend to decrease slightly. The price of OM 5451 broken rice decreased by 100 VND, to 7,450 - 7,650 VND/kg. The price of bran remained at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, and rice husk remained stable at 1,000 - 1,150 VND/kg.

Market and warehouse sales are slow, retail prices change little

Recorded at retail markets, rice prices have not changed compared to yesterday. Nang Nhen rice has the highest price of 28,000 VND/kg, Huong Lai is at 22,000 VND/kg. Regular rice fluctuates at 13,000 - 14,000 VND/kg, Jasmine rice is 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg, Nhat and Soc Thai rice are both at 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg.

At large warehouses in Dong Thap and An Giang , the amount of rice arriving is low, purchasing activities are slow, and prices are stable.

Export prices remain unchanged, international market awaits tax adjustment

Vietnam's rice export prices remain stable. Specifically: 5% broken rice is at 382 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 357 USD/ton, 100% broken rice fluctuates at 319 USD/ton.

In the Philippines, the government is considering increasing rice import tariffs to support domestic rice prices ahead of the harvest season. If approved, this could have a positive impact on Vietnamese rice prices in the coming time.
