Currently, power units under the Ha Tinh Power Company are focusing intensely on the task of restoring the power grid after the storm. Along many inter-communal roads, teams of technical workers are working diligently every day to expedite the clearing of old power lines and poles, replacing conductors, and addressing safety hazards at key junctions. Simultaneously, they are inspecting power line corridors and trimming trees that could interfere with power lines to ensure electrical safety from the grid to households.
Mr. Phan Van Loc, Head of the General Management Team No. 2 (Thach Ha Area Power Management Team), said: “Along with the work of restoring the power grid, the team members in the area combine it with promoting electrical safety, distributing official documents and leaflets, installing warning signs, assisting people in checking equipment, guiding them on replacing old equipment, and addressing bundles of wires after the meter that are too high above head height. The team also participates in a Zalo group connecting with villages and communes to receive more information about incidents and electrical safety hazards, and to promptly address them. They also regularly educate people not to be careless and approach construction sites while restoring the power grid to avoid unfortunate incidents.”

The Thanh Sen Regional Power Management Team manages and operates the power grid in the central area, concentrating production and business establishments, commercial services, agencies, hospitals, and schools. In particular, the area includes the Bishop's Palace of the Ha Tinh Diocese – where many activities will take place during the year-end and Christmas season, leading to a high increase in electricity demand. Furthermore, the high demand for decorations and household electrical appliances also necessitates ensuring electrical safety, preventing overloads, and reducing the risk of fire and explosions during peak season.
Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Team Leader of the Thanh Sen Area Power Management Team, said: “Our unit regularly monitors and inspects all medium and low voltage power lines and substations to detect and promptly address any shortcomings or defects that could potentially cause incidents. Next week, we will focus on inspecting the electrical system in the parish area, churches, and other important loads. At the same time, we will coordinate with parishes, sub-parishes, and local authorities to educate and encourage people to comply with safety measures in using electricity for decorating, building nativity scenes, and other projects to welcome Christmas.”

According to the Ha Tinh Power Company, the power grid restoration project is entering its final stages, coinciding with a period of high electricity demand from residents, production facilities, and entertainment activities. This creates significant pressure on electrical safety. Risks of short circuits causing fires and electrical accidents are entirely possible when the frequency of electrical equipment use increases, and when people and businesses are negligent or complacent.

Ha Tinh Power Company is continuing to issue warnings and conduct widespread public awareness campaigns through SMS messages, customer service apps, and leaflets to inform people about safe electricity usage.
Mr. Truong Van Hoang (Vinh Son village, Thach Khe commune) said: “After typhoon No. 10, the aquaculture infrastructure of my family suffered heavy damage, with the power lines and connections damaged. Thanks to the guidance and information from the local government and the electricity sector, my family has repaired the infrastructure and conducted a comprehensive inspection of the power supply system from the meter to the fish pond, replacing damaged circuit breakers and wires, ensuring safety and peace of mind for production.”

In the coming period, Ha Tinh Power Company will direct the maintenance of a 24/7 operational duty schedule at all its subordinate power branches; proactively develop plans for stable and safe power supply from now until the end of the year, especially during Christmas, New Year's Day, and Lunar New Year; and arrange backup equipment and materials to quickly resolve any incidents that may occur. At the same time, it will regularly coordinate with local authorities to inspect, remind, and handle cases of violations of the power grid safety corridor; and promote and encourage people to use electricity safely and economically.
Some warnings when using electricity.
- Do not attempt to repair electrical systems yourself without expertise. In case of a short circuit, immediately switch off the circuit breaker and call a technician.
- Avoid using thin, low-quality wires for high-power appliances such as water heaters, electric stoves, and air conditioners.
- Avoid plugging too many devices into a single outlet, as this can overload the system, causing overheating and fire hazards.
- Always install circuit breakers and residual current circuit breakers (ELCBs) in your home electrical system.
- Maintain a safe distance from power lines, especially when erecting decorative structures, setting up scaffolding, planting trees, or hanging outdoor lights.
- Do not climb power poles, do not set off fireworks near power lines, and do not fly kites in areas with power lines.
The electricity sector also advises businesses and production facilities to conduct a thorough inspection of their entire electrical systems, ensuring that wiring and protective equipment are functioning stably to serve production during the peak period at the end of the year.
