The incense offering ceremony shows gratitude to ancestors, and at the same time gives motivation and enthusiasm to the players before the match. This is also part of the series of activities of the Vietnamese women's team in the preparation process for the regional tournament.
Immediately after the ceremony, Coach Mai Duc Chung and the coaching staff shared positive thoughts about the training process over the past time. According to him, the whole team went through the training period in Cam Pha ( Quang Ninh ) and Hai Phong with a serious spirit, discipline and high effort.
“Despite the hot weather and the heavy training load, the players still showed perseverance, overcame difficulties and maintained good physical condition. Most importantly, no injuries occurred during the training process. This shows that the team is ready to enter the tournament with the highest confidence,” Mr. Chung emphasized.
The Vietnamese women's team was the first to arrive in Hai Phong, on July 30. The first training sessions were held at Lach Tray Stadium, helping the team get used to the field conditions and climate in the host city. During the tournament, the team will maintain training sessions in the afternoon and evening to adapt to the official match schedule.
From August 4, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will move to the Mercure Hai Phong Hotel, the official accommodation arranged by the organizing committee for the participating teams.
Before that, the official list of the Vietnamese team participating in the tournament will be announced, expected on August 4. One day later (August 5), Coach Mai Duc Chung and representatives of the teams in Group A will attend a pre-tournament press conference at the Pullman Hai Phong Hotel.
According to the schedule of the 2025 AFF Women's Championship, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group A with Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand. Huynh Nhu and her teammates will play the opening match against Cambodia, then meet Indonesia and Thailand on August 9 and August 12, respectively.
All three matches of the Vietnamese team took place at 7:30 p.m., the main match time in the evening, helping to create conditions for a large audience to come to the stadium to cheer.
The Vietnamese women's team's choice of Le Chan monument as a destination before the tournament not only has a spiritual and cultural element, but is also a meaningful reminder of the image of resilient and brave Vietnamese women. That spirit continues to be nurtured and inspired for the players on their journey to conquer new heights of regional football.
