Coffee inspires

There are certain cafes that many people choose when their souls are wounded or they are feeling down for various reasons. They go to cafes not only to sip the bitter coffee, but also to find inspiration and strength to become more confident and stand firm amidst life's storms.

In Thai Nguyen, there are some truly special cafes. People call them by various names, but they all share one thing in common: they are not just cafes, but also places that hold the inspiring stories of their owners.

With her fresh, beautiful appearance and radiant smile always on her lips, no one would guess that Ms. Nguyen Thi D., the owner of Charm Cafe in Phan Dinh Phung ward, is battling a terrible cancer every day.

When she learned I was feeling down, she gently comforted me: "In this world, besides life and death, everything else is insignificant. I myself have gone through days of despair and hopelessness, but I quickly regained my spirits because if I keep dwelling on negative thoughts, I'll suffer first, then my husband, children, and loved ones. There are times when they want to laugh and be happy, but because of me, they have to suppress their joy and hide their smiles. It's so sad! So I have to lift my spirits, think positively, and live a useful life so that the whole family can be happy. I decided to open a coffee shop to have the opportunity to interact and share with many people in similar situations."

The cafe has a peaceful atmosphere.

The cafe has a peaceful atmosphere.

“I came to the cafe feeling depressed because I had lost my job and didn't know what the future held for me. But when I heard Ms. D. share her story about battling cancer, I suddenly realized how fortunate I still am. I left feeling much lighter, and that I still had a reason to keep going.” - Ms. Nguyen Thi H., a customer, said.

Ms. Phung Thu H., from Quyet Thang ward, expressed: "Charm Cafe has a strange appeal to me, not only because of the delicious drinks and bright, peaceful atmosphere, but also because of the charming and inspiring way the beautiful and energetic owner talks..."

Furthermore, there are people who once owned mansions and luxury cars but suddenly lost everything due to business failures, abandoned by family and friends, and at times even contemplated suicide. But they rose again, opened a small cafe, and each day brewed a cup of coffee with all their heart, sharing cheerful and positive stories with their customers. And strangely enough, in that very space, customers burdened with sadness found a sense of belonging.

The cafe may be small, the corner may be small, but the hearts of the people are big, helping many souls to live with more faith and optimism.

The cafe may be small, the corner may be small, but the hearts of the people are big, helping many souls to live with more faith and optimism.

That's Mr. Nguyen Van L., the owner of a small roadside coffee shop on Quang Trung Street, Quyet Thang Ward. He doesn't have a fancy name, just something you'll come to if you know where it is. When customers ask him about his business, he smiles gently and says: "Loss has taught me many valuable lessons. There's nothing to be sad about; as long as you're alive, you have the chance to start over. The shop is small, but it brings my wife and me great joy. I bring laughter to our customers every day, and they return the favor with a bright smile when they leave, so we're all happy. I only have laughter and optimism to offer..." These simple words, sometimes, can touch even the most broken hearts.

No one wants to suffer. But when you sit in a corner of a cafe, listening to the stories of people who have faced the depths of pain and loss yet still smile, you realize: You are still happy! What you have lost is nothing compared to what you have left. What you have is incredibly precious! Perhaps that is the dream of so many people.

Therefore, many people visit the cafe more than once. They come as if seeking a spiritual home, a place where they are recharged with life energy. There, sadness doesn't disappear immediately, but it is soothed. There, people learn to appreciate life, learn to see life through a different lens. And when they leave the cafe, they carry with them a smile, a little belief that tomorrow will be better than today.
