On May 14th, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dong Hung Thuan Ward organized a "Neighborhood Coffee" program with the participation of leaders from the Ward Party Committee, People's Committee, Ward Police, armed forces, and the Secretaries of Party branches and Heads of residential areas 49, 50, 64 to 84. This is considered an effective two-way communication channel, contributing to improving the quality of Party and government building, promoting socio -economic development, and ensuring national defense and security in the locality.

Ms. Huynh Thi Lien, Head of Ward 72, said that the "Neighborhood Coffee" model creates closer ties between the government and the people, thereby promptly reflecting issues related to infrastructure and people's lives.
“Issues such as lighting systems, sewer installation, and damaged roads are promptly addressed and repaired by the authorities. I hope this model will continue to be maintained so that the government is closer to the people and more responsive; many issues that would be difficult to discuss in a meeting hall can be shared directly here,” Ms. Lien said.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Vinh Quyen, Secretary of the Party Branch of Ward 71, assessed that the program facilitates the exchange of information on issues that are relevant and practical to the people. “From the opinions of the people, we will compile and report to the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the ward for timely consideration and resolution. If the model is maintained regularly, it will be even more effective,” Mr. Quyen shared.
At the "Neighborhood Coffee" meeting, residents, through their neighborhood representatives, raised and suggested many issues related to areas such as economics, urban development, culture and society , education, health, land, environment, urban order, administrative reform, and the implementation of grassroots democracy; they also offered suggestions on the spirit and responsibility of service of the staff and civil servants.

Based on this, leaders of Party committees, government agencies, and relevant units directly exchange information, provide explanations, or assign officials to clarify and handle issues within their jurisdiction. Issues requiring verification will have a clear deadline for response; issues exceeding their authority will be compiled and reported to higher-level authorities for consideration and resolution according to regulations.
For complex cases involving multiple sectors, local authorities proactively provide information on the process and responsibilities for handling them, ensuring transparency and objectivity.
Speaking with reporters, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Hung Thuan Ward, said that the "Neighborhood Coffee" program is organized with the motto "listen and act," creating conditions for the entire political system to directly go down to the grassroots level and listen to the opinions of the people.

“Issues within our jurisdiction will be addressed and explained immediately; other issues will be noted and considered for further action. The program is held quarterly, focusing on areas with significant public concerns to listen to and resolve them,” Ms. Thanh emphasized.
According to the leaders of Dong Hung Thuan ward, in the first quarter of 2026, through the "Neighborhood Coffee" program, the locality received 17 opinions and suggestions from the people related to clean water, maintenance and upgrading of alleys, lighting systems, traffic, land, etc. These issues have been considered and resolved; including the suggestion to install traffic control signs in the school area to ensure the safety of students during peak hours, which the ward has coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to research and propose a plan for implementation.

Through the "Neighborhood Coffee" model, local authorities are gradually improving management efficiency, strengthening social consensus, and contributing to building a government that is close to the people, understands the people, and serves the people.
