On the afternoon of July 9th, singer Hong Nhung held a press conference to launch her music video "Tu Hoi" (I Ask ). This is the first musical product the diva has released since announcing her health issues in early 2025.
According to Hong Nhung, "Tu Hoi" (I Wonder) marks a significant shift in her genre and performance style after more than four decades pursuing music.
I always thought of myself as a positive person until one day...
At the event, Hong Nhung did not hesitate to mention the breast cancer she is battling.
"People often say that singer Hong Nhung has been a source of positive inspiration for over 40 years, and I really believed that. It wasn't until a tragedy occurred that I realized that all the love and encouragement from those around me were the true source of positive energy."
"The encouragement from everyone is a source of inspiration that helps me overcome the most difficult moments, enabling an artist like me to decide to move forward with new creations," she confided.

As the late musician Trinh Cong Son once said, Hong Nhung always believed that life is finite, but love is infinite.
Therefore, the singer sees releasing new music and engaging in artistic activities as a way to reciprocate that immense love.
When asked whether her singing style had changed since her illness, Hong Nhung affirmed that her singing technique and breathing skills remained unchanged because singing is an integral part of her being.
In addition, daily practice is also a "remedy" for her to maintain her singing voice.
"But technique is nothing. Technique is just a means; what it carries is what matters. After life's events, I sing differently because I've changed as a person, my perspective has changed, and my appreciation for life and gratitude towards others has also changed significantly. I realize how small I am, even smaller than a grain of dust," Hong Nhung shared.

Top trending is not a measure of Hong Nhung's success.
For Hong Nhung, getting into the trending list might be a measure of success for many singers, but not for her.
The singer admitted that she didn't expect the music video "Tự hỏi" (I Ask) to resonate with young people or any specific audience group. For her, it was simply a journey of self-discovery, and she affirmed: "When someone overcomes a health crisis, that's already 'top trending'."

After experiencing health setbacks, Hong Nhung chose music as a way to rediscover herself – not in despair, but towards hope and the future. Through "Self-Questioning ," the singer conveys a message about tender, poignant love with a strong spirit, reflecting her profound life journey and experiences.
Hong Nhung said that this song was a completely new experience for her, as she was usually more familiar with classic ballads.
"I feel fortunate to be able to experiment with new things in my own music with talented young collaborators. That's a source of motivation for an artist to continue creating," she said.

In particular, the entire love story in the music video "I Wonder" is inspired by the surrealist paintings of the Belgian artist René Magritte - a master in creating seemingly familiar spaces that nonetheless contain profound, sometimes illogical, meanings.
The music video skillfully exploits that quirky artistic spirit to tell a love story as an enigma, sometimes vague, sometimes intense, but always needing to be listened to, felt, and continued to hope for.
Through the music video, Hong Nhung affirms the view that no boundaries or age can hinder artistic creativity. At the same time, she demonstrates a courageous spirit of innovation, to continue writing new chapters in her inspiring career.
